Many were wondering if wired headphones could be connected together with the external keyboard / mic and unfortunately it's not possible using the method in this video. HOWEVER, there's another way to do it, thanks to Voltaire Carandang for sharing it with me in the comments. For those interested - check out this new video I made about it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ehkleBXUAVM.html
@@numemo not sure if they ever found an answer. It sometime depends on the order that you plug adapter to phone. is adapter plugged to phone before plugging to midi keyboard? or vise a versa?
thanks because I mean, its nice to play but I want to connect it to speaker, the speakers of the iphone dont make much noise and I want to use the mic, use reverb on the phone and send it to a speaker. I wish the old 3.5 mm plug would still be there....
Sweet I saw a another video where he said you have to use a multi port usb hub in order to power the minilab but you are not using one so he is wrong but he was using an iPad not an iPhone... I’m using an iPhone 8 so I’m hoping it works
This does not look like midi over usb, more like usb to usb? Cool video and answers some questions, looking for a midi 1 to usb solution but thanks for the info.
@@josebecerra9813 Nope. There's latency/delay over bluetooth. You could listen to recorded music but you can't play. It's impossible to play keys when sound comes later.
Instead of using the charger you can use ur headphone adapter and plug in regular headphones also I think they have an adapter that has headphone jack and lightning connector
Great video except it’s 1 of those I have to put playback speed on 2 cause it’s in the category of taking to long to get the information I need other than that perfect
The X is the Roman numeral for Ten. So it's the iPhone TEN S. As in successor to the iPhone 8. They used numbers all the way up and they didn't randomly switch to letters for the X. It is just the iPhone Ten/Ten S.
Hey man. I’m not 100% sure what you mean. Could you please explain? Is it to save on draining the phone battery? Could you please recommend one? Thanks in advance.
hello brother, I'd like to understand how send the song from iPhone to the speakers, if you are using the lightning, one usb are used to the controller, the other one, is not used in your video, would be possible use it to be the output, to adapt a P2 for example?
If you check the pinned the comment, I have another video showing how you can use a dock to transfer audio to speakers or headphones while playing MIDI
Now plug them both up at the same time. Or here’s an idea. Monitor the sound while you are recording the vocals without using the speakers on the iPhone. You can’t. Why? No headphone jack. How about this. Take any new iPhone X(fill in the blank) to a church. Plug it into their keyboard, and use the iPhone for your piano sounds. With GarageBand, Korg Gadget, iLectric, Korg Module, and etc it’s definitely powerful enough to get phenomenal sound. No...wait. You can’t. You have to USB MIDI the iPhone into the keyboard AND plug the iPhone into the venue’s sound system, but...well...no headphone jack. I know it sounds like I’m being facetious. I’m really not. Apple is not the only company to remove the headphone jack from their devices. However, giving music creators access to some of the highest end DAW apps and taking away the headphone jack is like giving graphic artist/designers and videographers access to the highest end photo editing and/or video editing apps then taking away the camera.
My keyboard has only audio out not MIDI. I used a 1/4” to 3.5mm jack from the piano and plugged the other end of the 3.5mm cable into a Y splitter (mic and headphone) which is connected to the iPhone using lighting to audio cable. However in GarageBand I can only choose the audio recorder option not piano. If I choose piano and try to record as you show there is no audio ?
In order to control midi you need a midi controller. Are you sure there’s no USB ports on your keyboard anywhere? If not then you’ll have to buy a keyboard with midi, the nektar se 25 is only $50 & plug and play as well
Hey numemo, is Line 6 keys compatible with iPhone X? how do we do if i want to plug it at the midi and the speakers at the same time using iPhone X? Thanks man
