In 2023 and 2024 I had the opportunity to spend time on Gariwerd Country, Australia and explore creating a connection with the land using watercolour. The documentary shows my process of working and using watercolour as a medium to collaborate with the elements of the land.
I am hoping with this video to start a thought process for the viewer to realise where they are at the moment and what was there before. This to create a greater respect for the land we live on and therefore look after it much better for our future.

I can identify with the connections to land, nature and country which you seek and feel inside. What a wonderful way to let your inner soul speak and to play with the natural elements to express yourself as an artist! Thank you for sharing this experience with an audience. 💖

Thank you for showing that the medium of watercolor knows no boundaries. I thoroughly enjoy your reasoning and processes and, with gratitude, will adapt these into my own artistic practice. Thank you.

Wonderful! I love this process of working with nature, and I love the result too. Can I ask what tool you use back in the studio to scratch into the paper? I’ve used Mont Marte craft knives, but they don’t seem as effective as what you’re using - I have to scratch multiple times in the one spot to rupture the surface sufficiently.

Just a regular box cutter as the blade needs to be stiff. Really dig into it.
