Such an thorough resource - thank you for helping me to fill in the gaps in my class curriculum in a way that really helps me feel like I understand. Your explanations are so helpful, especially alongside seeing you write the code.
Venkat, this is a great video series. The information is very pertinent to the subject discussed and share best practices. Could you add a request to your series? I looking to understand the configuration file risk and how to protect and or encrypt the app.config and web.config. How to set it up and how to use it in the application. Maybe add a discussion on when to use encryption and when not to use it.

But in same time if I change the piece of code into this code, It's working fine, string cs = "data source=MOM-PC\\MOM; database=Mymom; integrated security=SSPI;"; SqlDataSource sqlDatSource = new SqlDataSource(); sqlDatSource.ConnectionString = cs; sqlDatSource.SelectCommand = "Select * from tblCustom"; GridView1.DataSource = sqlDatSource; GridView1.DataBind(); Checked web config file, & provided proper namespace using System.Configuration; using System.Data.SqlClient; Please suggest...As i m beginner in asp.net
NOTE: You receive this error message specifically when you use integrated security (when you include the integrated security=sspi attribute in a connection string). When you use ASP.NET, the default security context is the aspnet_wp for both aspnet_wp.exe and the request to SQL Server. By default, the aspnet_wp account does not have any permission in SQL Server, and therefore it cannot access the database. Solution To resolve this problem, use any of the following methods: · Programmatically change the security context of the ASP.NET worker process to a user that has the proper SQL Server permissions. COULD YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE, THANK YOU
There is no way that web.config can be hacked as it's not served to users by IIS. But what kind of information are you worried about to get exposed, I guess username and password stored in plaintext. In that case you can encrypt it . See this link:msdn.microsoft.com/library/dtkwfdky.aspx
