Conner Ridges is one of 50,000 young adults who face the autism services cliff this year. His support needs disqualify him from vocational rehab programs funded by the state of Utah and choices for day programs are limited.
Change is hard for most people, but it is especially hard for those with autism. As Conner ages out of federally mandated school supports, he not only loses hours of structured support that is the foundation for his learning and growth, he loses the community that knows him, understands him, and loves him exactly as he is.
