People saying he lost an edge clearly haven't seen how well he skates, there is no rule about skating too fast towards a goalie, there however is a rule for running over a goalie and ALSO a rule against tripping (Tanev stick is clearly seen wacking the skates of McDavid at 0:05 ). The call could have gone either way but to say McDavid "lost an edge" is just a cop-out if nothing else. Could be said he would have run the goalie even without being tripped, but at this point, it's speculation as again, it could have gone either way.
@@Owen-pf7dn call on the ice was correct. Deal with the fact that every time he makes a charge at goalie the defence will not just stop and watch, they will do their job and defend. He does not have any "right of way" when charging the goalie. Accept the fact MaDavid is lucky he did not get hurt or hurt Markstrom and move on. It was a great game to watch, win or lose.
Not a tough call its been a thing done to Oilers for years . Even in tonights game refs are horrible . Calgary lames scored by crashing a goalie . They crashed the goalie twice tonight and 1 was a goal but no goalie interference penalties
yes taney connects with McDavids stick but tanevs stick follows through and then hits the blade of mcdavids right leg mcdavid has repeatedly pushed the net like this and stopped or turned last minute let's pretend mcdavid did lose the edge of his skate then why does his foot fall back under him (like you know he was tripped) instead of slipping out towards markstrom but hey what can I say you guys support Giordanos slew foots so I doubt you can recognize a tripping
I don't think Gio even touched him...Tanev made contact with stick/puck first so call was correct on the ice. Plus he was already going down before Tanev made contact....McDavid always charges at the net like that, very reckless and he was on a direct path to hit Markstrom . He did not have room to cut in front safely and avoid Markstrom, so were they supposed to stop and give him room...I don't think so. Safe play would be around the net...but that would be unselfish. He deserved to have a multiple shots to the head after running down the goalie like that. He is exciting to watch but with that move...he will get hurt bad one day yet and end his career, or even worse, end someone else's career. Sadly he puts himself at risk doing this...all players know he does it and one day he will get hit hard enough to loose balance, into boards he will fly and break a bone or 2.
@@Owen-pf7dn get some glasses dude...he was going down at 05 seconds...BEFORE any one touched his skate...He was lucky he didn't get the post again....And how could he AVOID Markstom with the path he took... dangerous play and it will end his career
Title should read: "McDavid skates too fast and loses and edge while hurtling toward the goalie, clear example of goaltender interference" What did he expect would happen? Faze through Markstrom? Leave your victim complex in the toilet bowl Oilers fans
Foursites... You are right buddy... lets go skating together and I will hack at your feet with a stick while you are on edge and see how well you can control your ability to turn through it.
Crashing the net is the only thing I've seen McDavid do. Whether a stick got there or not, he would have fallen. Maybe he needs to learn to control his speed.
@@quentinskalyn1771 yeah and he's also the best skater of ALL TIME. Widely recognised across the board by nhl players past and present. Stated by Bobby Orr. ..go away dumb dumb
@@zigfield723 as I stated, perhaps fastest, but not the best skater. You see, there is more to skating than speed. There is control ....without crashing the goalie....if he was the "best skater" he would not have slipped on the ice, causing him to cry, throw his temper and get penalty. He was going down even if he was by himself on the ice.... Oh, and thank you for the grade 2 name calling, your maturity is lower than your shoe size.
@@quentinskalyn1771 Yes, exactly, and as I stated and everyone else does, McDavid is the best at all of those aspects of skating. Of all time. So what are you talking about?
Mark Giordano trying to injure him again, he should've been suspended last time as it was clear Giordano had intent to injure McDavid (talking about a year and a half ago)
@@xsvech37 You are right Gio didn't actually do anything but he certainly intended on tripping him. He had his new sidekick Tanev trip McDavid. And you are right that is a penalty on McDavid, as in Tanev completely tripped him.
Mcdavid takes dangerous run at goalie again...he was going down before Tanev touched him...McDavid should have seen a few punches to the head for trying to injure Markstrom
@@quentinskalyn1771 There's a reason why Gio wasn't pissed at McDavid and why McDavid was pissed at Gio. If you've ever watched McDavid making rushes like that, you would know he doesn't just fall like that. He was skating on one leg and then the front of his skate blade gets hit by Tanev's skate then he falls. I'm honestly not even sure if you're a troll or just delusional.
@@cbep9 Tanev hit his stick, and the puck first, so no penalty. Does not look like Gio made contact, and McDavid was already falling before any contact..... f you knew the rules it would help.... And learn to actually watch the video. PS..How old are you? 10? 11? Name calling...so childish....
