It's been great watching one of our own come up in a sport that I've been watching for years. I remember when Aldo was coming up, and the very first fight I saw him in he became one of favourite fighters instantly. To see Conor, who acts and sounds like one of the lads fight Aldo is almost surreal! If he wins... Holy shit, I'm speechless just thinking of it!

I'm mexican but I have irish blood on my veins. My grandfather had Irish blood and I can feel that emotion as well!! I am truly indpired by the McGregor effect!! Declared McGregor fan since I saw him against Brandao!! And I am 100% sure he will become lightweight champion as well!

This video makes me realize how good this guy is.....the reason why is this, he trains with passion and very hard.....I believe he is at a level no other ufc fighter is....he fights like as if his opponents are beginners in mma.....he definitely has a recipe and the answers......he also takes confidence to a whole new level....his pre-fight trash talk gets to every fighter even though they always deny that.....he had aldo beat in his mind before the fight ever started......2015 athlete of the year of all sports....

Aww..the memories..we were in las vegas for ufc 189 and i can safely say it was 5 days of memories i will never forget..it cost a small fortune to go but it was worth ever penny..the flight from Dublin with the other fans..stayed in the MGM..in the bars with the other fans..the final presser...the free weigh ins.,10'000 fans..and then the fight..id do it again..

People say ufc 229 was the most impactful event ever, but the one that rose UFC to international level was UFC 194. The amount of press conferences around the world was crazy. The trash talk, the promotion and the fight how it turned out was just perfect for UFC to become super popular

CM took the status of the UFC to a whole different level. He is an immensely talented fighter who put in an enormous amount of hard work to get where he is. He deserves nothing but respect. And no I am not Irish :)

Wow, I didn't know he supports Man U, wicked. Man U should get him there at the beginning of a game like they did with Usain Bolt. 2 great sportsmen with cool personalities and star quality, he would be great to get the crowd going. UFC is huge in Manchester.

First my opinio about Conor was that he was arrogant, that he didn't had respect. But...i did research about him..watched all of his videos from the beginning. This guy is a legend.

I was reading comments and articles after Conor won RTE's "Irish Athlete of the Year" award for 2016, and was truly baffled to see so many Irish people hating on Conor, and even more dumbfounded to see people trash MMA, saying it's not a sport. It just amazes me that people - the same people who would consider boxing a sport - in 2016 would look at MMA as anything other than a sport, but this is reality. For anyone from Ireland, I'm curious: is it people of all ages who feel that way about MMA and Conor, or does it tend to be older people? I would assume it's the latter, as I would hope that the longer time passes, the more people will recognize the merits of MMA. It's the purest form of combat sports that there is (in my opinion), and furthermore, it's what I consider the purest SPORT in the world. One man, on his own, using his physical attributes and mind to defeat an opponent in a contest.

He's made it to legend status within 2 years. He might not be legend status world wide yet but within Ireland he sure is. It's the type of story they will tell their grand children about. The Brazilian champion hadn't lost in 10 years but the Irish legend KO'd him in 13 seconds. The McGregor name will live on in Ireland. If he defeats Dos Anjos next he'll be a world wide legend and one of the all time greats. That's why I think he has to take the RDA fight. If he takes Edgar or Diaz and loses it changes everything. If he loses to RDA it hurts his brand a bit but not nearly as much as losing to Edgar or Diaz would.
