Yep. People think that if you play fast there are no feels. I think when you love what you are doing, which I am sure Jeff does, then there is a feeling in it and pretty strong. It's just beyond those people's comprehension.

There's not much emotion in Loomis' playing in my opinion. That might be what other people are saying. Try listening to Rick Graham. He plays fast but with much more soul and melody.

Chris Pouliot Totally agreed, mixing cooking with shred metal reminds me of the time i had broccoli soup... (which mind you, calls for 2 tablespoons unsalted butter or olive oil 1 medium onion, sliced 1 clove garlic, smashed 1 russet potato, peeled and diced Pinch dried thyme leaves 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more as needed 4 cups chicken broth, homemade or low-sodium canned 1 (16-ounce) package frozen broccoli, thawed 2 to 4 tablespoons cream or half-and-half, optional Freshly ground black pepper Optional toppings: shaved Parmesan, shredded cheddar or crumbled bacon And then you have to Melt the butter in a medium saucepan, over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the potato, thyme, salt, and broth and bring to a boil. Adjust the heat to maintain a gentle simmer, and cook uncovered until the potato is fork tender, about 10 minutes. Add the broccoli and simmer for 3 minutes.Then puree the soup in batches in a blender or with an immersion blender. Return soup to the pot and add the cream. Bring to a simmer, taste, and season with salt and pepper. Then finally Serve with optional toppings.) ...after i brushed my teeth. it was nasty.

AnthonyEsquer I’ve listened to all of it. If you’re a guitarist, just try their stuff and compare the difficulty level. You’ll know. If you’re not a guitarist, pls take my word for it. Nothing is harder than Jason Becker’s stuff. Loomis is amazing though.

late night... visiting some of my favorite surreal music... wishing Keith and Jeff would team up again.. some of the most dynamic music I've ever heard in my life. A lot of it is due to Keith making the lead mix so clean to allow Jeff to express himself... The bassy control this track has is amazing .. please collaborate again!

In my opinion that's the best song on the album (or instumental) it's packed full of badass awesome riffs, great and good solos and has a solid structure to it with lots of Key Changes and styles/techniques of play. Love it!!!

Jeff`s always impressive (as a composer), I find his playing very inspiring every time I hear a new piece. Great opening riffs, which hold the entire composition on a high dynamism level and incredible phrasing - the more I listen to him, the more I appreciate his vibrato. Maybe it`s weird, but this is how I hear it. Personally, I use this technique modestly in my playing and in my compositions, but even as an acoustic player I find it more and more interesting in his case. As Steve Vai once said - 'the vibrato shows the level of the musician`s control over the instrument'. Especially in Loomis case, which is great.
