We went down the Ocoee River for Wilson's bachelor trip. It took us 6 hours to go 10 miles of both the Upper and Lower Ocoee River, fighting stage 4/5 rapids with a first time guide.
The Upper Ocoee River is home to the 1996 Olympic course. It holds true to its intensity, as we fight our way through the heavy hitting rapids. The river was not holding back, but that only added to the drama of the day.
The lodge we stayed in was in northeast Georgia and was pretty new. The Airbnb was pretty nice for a reasonable price, and only 40 minutes away from the guide service. That may seem like a far distance, however, there is not much in that portion of the country, so travelling a little further distance for a good nights sleep was worth it.
