Conquering Sukkelpoort: A 4x4/Camping Adventure 

Hello Matt. As usual, thanks for posting your awesome vids (both hunting & 4x4ing). You do an absolute fantastic job of showcasing our beautiful South Africa to your many subscribers around the world. To all Matt's followers from around the world.....if you ever wondered what South Africa is like & would like to see it's immense then I honestly recommend that you watch & subscribe to a current RU-vid channel called 'Itchy Boots' about a young Dutch lady called Noraly, who is currently riding her motorbike solo through South Africa. She has close to 1 million followers from all over the world......very worthwhile watching indeed👌. There is no such thing as a bad 4x4 trail, only bad preparations. It is good that you made the upgrades/modifications to take on this trail. Thanks for sharing this.

This was so reminiscent of my younger days, (40yrs. ago) when I used to trek in my 4X4 Dodge up into the Rocky Mountains here in the U.S. doing pre-season scouting for Elk. It's always good to have an idea of what lays ahead prior to the actual hunt so as not to have too many surprises. I had so many wonderful adventures, this video brought back so many great memories. Thank you for sharing your adventures....

You'd think, for a 3+ mile stretch of trail, the Park service could get a small tracked digger in there and take down the worst of the humps and ruts. It'd still be 4X4 only, but not suicidal.

See if you can get a try in a Steyr Pinzgauer. Maybe not so brilliant for long distance travel, but it'll go anywhere any other 4x4 will go.

Very nice video, incredible nature! A short question, "sukkelpoort" sounds Dutch, isn't it a Dutch name? The translation then would be "Fools Gate", not a bad name isn't it. You are quite lucky people living in such a beautiful country, too bad some people ruined it by being criminals.
