In this episode I discuss the differences between the Conqueror Challenge and the Pacer Virtual Adventure Challenges. I list the pros and cons of both, to give you a better idea of which one is better for you.
The ONE big thing I like about Pacer more than Conqueror is that Pacer medals don't slap "Virtual Challenge" on them like Conqueror ones do. I'm not trying to be deceitful, but at the same time you put in the miles and work to complete the challenge and I feel like it's a knock on you as the participant to have your medal have "Virtual Challenge" printed on it.
I have been alternating between Conqueror and Pacer challenges for some time now. Tomorrow I'll finish my latest Pacer challenge and I'm all set to start the next Conqueror in my list. Both Apps have their pros and cons. Because my Conqueror medals are posted to me from within the UK I get them very speedily upon completion of the challenge. The Pacer medals however, come to me from China so take a little longer to reach me. Not too long though and the carrier they use, 4PX provides just about the best tracking system on the planet so I always know exactly where in the world my Pacer medal is. I'm getting to the stage now though where the Conqueror challenges are becoming enormous in length. I really do think they need to release a new bunch of short, middle and long challenges... Fantastic as it is, I just can't see me enjoying a 2485 mile slog to complete the Pacific Crest Trail.
I just finished my first Conqueror challenge.. the only negative, the medal takes soooo long to get to Australia.. I finished it almost 4 weeks ago.. and I’m not really as excited anymore, because I finished it ages ago
I would recommend that you check out Pacer Challenges. They give you a choice of either getting your medal shipped after you complete your challenge, or before you complete it. So if it takes 4 weeks to get to you, depending on the challenge, it could arrive at the perfect time!
I would like to add that the customer support is so much better with Conqueror. I got a response from Conqueror within an hour; whereas, Pacer doesn't return a query until the next day or later.
I agree! Customer service of Conqueror is the best. I had a problem with the delivery of my first medal so they sent me another one, no questions asked.
I feel like Pacer is too easy. Most of their medals you can earn after running maybe 20 miles or in some cases even just 2 or three miles. I generally run for about 6 miles on the treadmill after about an hour so not exactly worth the $29.99 per medal. Atleast if I get one of the harder ones, like say 40 Miles then it feels like I actually accomplished something.
does anyone know which one has a better "steetview" or like look around the places your virtually walking? i signed up for my first one the walk around giza... but theres v little streetview and its kinda disappointing.. i was kind hoping id get to look around to give me an idea of where i might want to world travel..
Pacer, you can walk or run for all the challenges, Camino de Santiago will be the longest and might be a couple months, and Conqueror is seems more if you have a bicycle. Either, is a fun way to keep you moving.
I just signed up for some from other places that are 5K as I'm beginner at exercise so the 3.1 miles of the 5K is good for me to get started. I got 3 from Ace, 2 from virtual strides, 1 from medal dash and 1 from yesfit. Ace is in the UK I think. AFter these I will probably stick with Conqueror and Pacer and only do one of the others if I really like the medal. the others don't have the app, postcards, tree planting, etc
This video was not helpful as it did not give me any information that I couldn't get on my own. I just finished a conquerer trek and wanted an explanation of how the apps are different. I can go to their websites and look at the medals and distances myself.
They are both very similar, they both have street view, and you can manually add in your distance traveled by different exercises. The nice thing about Pacer is that it automatically uses your phone to count your steps, essentially acting as a pedometer. While with Conqueror, you have to log everything in manually.
Having completed many conqueror challenges I think there better looking medals..the only pacer one I want is Roswell cos I like the alien 👽. Dude try and sound a bit more enthusiastic about them , you sound like you couldn't careless about any of it.
