how is no one talking about conrad's "i need you" at the end... his whole arc this season was him bottling up his emotions and not wanting to become a burden (especially to his mother), and him finally opening up and asking for what he wants is so important and is probably what pushed susanah to agree to do the treatment.
This scene was a real tear jerker 😢 Chris Briney is an excellent actor!! He nailed every scene. He is the perfect Conrad and I am convinced nobody could have portrayed him better. It takes a very strong person to know such a painful truth and not tell anyone. It is no wonder Conrad had an anxiety attack on the boat with Cleveland. Already dealing with the possibility of losing his mom, he couldn’t bear losing Belly. That’s love ❤️ Susanna pushed Belly into the Deb because she wanted to see “her girl” in a white dress knowing she would never get the chance to see her on her wedding day.
Conrad's acting is great but lets not dismiss Jeremiah bc he's hurting just as much. Anyone with eyes can see how much he loves his mom. He's devastated. They both broke my heart
Conrad. He has a relationship with Belly that nobody else can. He understands her more than anybody. Belly was trying to deny that he had feelings for her because she was afraid of rejection. He already had to deal with his mom, and he was afraid to lose Belly too. He loves her. People don’t understand grief. Conrad has a habit of knowing things and keeping them in to protect everybody else. Not once thinking about himself. He is a a human being dealing with the weight of anxiety and grief all alone because he can’t tell anybody he knows because he wants his mom to be happy and he feels like he’ll ruin it or he’ll speak it into play and she’ll die. Everybody is all like team jere but Conrad is juggling all these emotions and his main reasoning is that he doesn’t want to lose Belly too. He loves her, he loves his mom and he can’t lose them both. That’ll break him and send him into a state of no return. Depression
I saw this series in a movie movie recap on RU-vid and I found it very interesting and it keeps on popping up into my recommendation that you know what I'm going to be binging it if not tonight then maybe next week Friday but who knows it's really interesting so I'm going to definitely give it watch
This scene was heartbreaking but Jeremiah was just as hurt as conrad and I think people only see how sad conrad is because he’s known the noire season but imagine how hard it must be for Jeremiah too. He just found out his mom has cancer and belly dancing with conrad must’ve also broke his heart. They both had every right to grieve and cry I’m just saying people don’t realize how much Jeremiah was hurting. Btw Ik this is just a tv show so don’t come at me
Gavin and Chris are wonderful actors. This scene really broke me. Jeremiah and Conrad don't deserve this, they both are such precious boys. Also notice how Conrad hugged himself after hugging his mom? He still didn't hug her completely like Jere did, even in the middle of a breakdown, he was trying to look less emotional. Boy has been bottling up his self since long..
This is very sad, Susana wanted everyone to be having a good time, that's why she didn't say anything because it would be her last summer. When I saw this part, a piece of trash got in my eye. It's very sad to know that she has little time left. 😭😭
i don’t cry over shows or movies but i got so attached to everyone in this especially the boys so when jere first found out i was bailing my eyes out and when Conrad said i need you i was literally dying on the floor. CANT WAIT FOR SEASON 2♥️♥️♥️ ps: if belly doesn’t want jere i will take him
same here, my mom got diagnosed with cancer a year ago and up today she still hasn't gotten surgery as her treatments aren't going well, I hate cancer 😢
I am a 35 year old mum of two boys. Both blonde, blue and green eyed beauts like these two. And I bawled like a baby! I love my boys more than anything and I had to see my mum go through cancer and chemo too :-(
this scene hit me home as someone who has a mom who's also dying from cancer... I get Conrad a lot, the amount of anticipatory grief that I experience everyday, the anxiety knowing my mom's treatments aren't going well and she has to do 17 chemo treatments is just so sickening to know, she's a really great mom and she's fighting hard, it's just really sad to think about it. I cried so much in this scene, it's painfully relatable, I can't take it anymore
Some say it's not right for men to cry but hey when you need to let it out just let it out I did when I thought I was gonna lose my mother to cancer I'm glad she's okay but cancer is tricky all I can do is hope it doesn't come back.

Her cancer came back. A few years ago she already was in treatment for cancer and the cancer disappeared. She hadn’t told her sons about it but somehow Conrad (the oldest one, sitting on the right side) found out and that’s why he got depressed. He quit sport, started to smoke and to drink, treated his loved ones horrible and started to get panic attacks. At the beginning of the show she stated that she doesn’t want to fight against cancer anymore and that she wanted to spend the best summer she ever had with her loved ones (her sons, Belly, Laurel (belly’s mum)) Jeremiah (the youngest, sitting on the left side) found out that his mothers cancer is back I think in episode 6 or 7. He then wanted to talk about it with his brother but Conrad told him they will talk later. Jeremiah then realised that he already knew what he was about to tell him and got mad at him. He punched him and both of them started to fight. Susannah decided to fight against cancer. Spoiler!!!!!!! The following will start in the second book, probably also in season 2: Susannah will sadly die later on. Spoiler ending.
