Actually Matt, it makes sense to my why he is crying out to God after bragging about everything. Riches, Sex, Fame, Money... all will leave you unsatisfied in your Soul if you don't have Jesus in it. He even says he misses the old version of himself, from before his fame. Funny how you can find Truth in just about anything.

I love when Matt talks bout being a fan of these rappers, his delivery is perfect.

If you want to show how damaging rap is to society, why would you go after one of the most inspirational and talented artists in hip-hop. Polo Gs songs are about perseverance and turning your life around. Just because you don’t understand it doesn’t mean it isn’t art. I love DW but their war with hip-hop is ridiculous.

He was really trying in this song and it what made me actually start listening to some of his music. I do not agree with a ton of what he’s saying but he is reaching out in his lyrics a lot of times. out of all of these songs I never thought I would hear one about anything other than murdering people and having sex with any woman you come across, and while it is true that there is a lot of that instead of it being bragging for the sake of t in this song it work to highlight his insecurities in response to his new found fame and notoriety as well as the things that come along with that. For these reasons as well as the fact that I can actually understand what he is saying Polo G has legitimately inpresed me.

I’m an old timer. That is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. So much intelligence and creativity. It puts the classics to shame. Sorry Beethoven, Mozart, Liszt etc. and even Elvis and the Beetles. Their talent doesn’t match what I just witnessed on Matt Walsh.

It's a genre of music representing those who politicians ignore, coming from places Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh wouldn't even think of going to the trenches. Them saying that its soulless is an uneducated assumption because the heart of rap is the heart, the messages deep within the lyrics, prayers, and wishes that it will get better for the world, messages of equality and love, and display of what it's like in the deep, dark areas that most people wouldn't survive. In the words of 21 Savage, "Rap saved me" This song, particularly, RAPSTAR by Polo G, showcases emotion and the pain that came with money. Hiding emotions, and referencing using drugs to numb pain. Truthfully a heartfelt, meaningful song with many positive messages that many must hear. (Edit: they also could go for many more lyrical-based songs than RAPSTAR that are still hits like Mona Lisa or Jesus Walks)
