Following the failure of his own motion to stay in the Single Market Nick Boles has resigned from the Conservative Party.
Mr Boles said he tried to find a "compromise" for Brexit but said he had "failed".
Resigning the whip, he said: "I have failed, chiefly, because my party refuses to compromise.
"I regret, therefore, to announce that I can no longer sit for this party."

Typical of the MP’s we have in Parliament at the moment. If you can’t get what you want, act like a spoilt child. Nick - you should have an election in your constituency immediately. See if the 61% of your constituents who vote to leave want to keep you as their MP. Or do you think that your constituents, who must be really racist & bigoted, didn’t know what they were voting for? Do the decent thing Nick Boles - stop taking your salary until your constituents have voted for you as their independent MP.

Bilbo Swaggins Kinda isn’t true. Look at Daniel Hannan, a big supporter of brexit. He said that absolutely nobody was threatening our place in the single market. and that is because it was in a way. He failed to move his colleagues to a compromise good for most but the ego based position of many is getting in the way whether Remain or Leave. The trouble is no deal advocates are making stuff up about what leave voters want, which is the opposite of what was said by the Leave campaign. Farage said "We can be like Norway" and NO-ONE mentioned no deal at all in 2016. No dealers have just hijacked the leave position and made it less likely to leave at all. One of the options such as Common Market 2.0 and Custom Union should be the one which gets cross-party support. If UKIP or a no deal Tory Government were elected then no deal would be seen as a viable direction. Voters elected more moderate MPs and that is that.

@ascend2luv
@ascend2luv 5 лет назад
@@harrycouchman2897 No he and May were NEVER interested in leaving, withdrawal treaty was written up by the EU and Merkel they make sure they got what they wanted, including the NI backstop trap. The UK gets to pay £39billion upfront plus continuing to pay in whilst forced to accept European legislation and rules, without a UK voice. the term was "Vassal/slave state", was correct, whilst UK continued to pay in without anything in return. Withdrawal Treaty WAS NOT way of ensuring Brexit, as there was nothing left to discuss in way of trade as Withdrawal Treaty was an indefinite way of keeping UK shackled to the EU without a voice. Any MP who backed that was a traitor, to the people, it was NOT Brexit, it was another way of keeping the UK under the heel of the EU. The vote was remaining or leave we didn't ask for a "Withdrawal Treaty" to replace current unacceptable EU treaties, this withdrawal treaty was an indefinite trap ensuring that Brexit NEVER happened. The terms of the withdrawal treaty were closer to a surrender treaty from a defeated nation after a war, similar to Treaty of Versailles, EU annexes off NI and parts of Gibraltar, repatriations ie £39 billion upfront plus continuing into the coffers of the EU. Withdrawal Agreement should be titled "Surrender Agreement".
@fricozoid1

@@ascend2luv You said it yourself "the vote was remaining or leave", so why do you assume a withdrawal treaty is not brexit. There was nothing on the ballot paper about not having an agreement. There should never have been a referendum in the first place. We elect politicians to make these decisions based on the fuller info they have. The whole thing was an excersize in keeping the Tory party together in the first place. If the majority of the uk wanted out the eu why didn’t UKIP under Farage ever get a parliamentary seat......? As an American and as a friend of the UK,I think it would be safe to say that Brexit has been a unmitigated disaster not too unlike the current presidency of Trump.

Brexit has been a disaster because of the two faced lying politicians and why do you think Trump won.maybe because most of the liberally minded globalist politicians have stopped listening to people's concerns.

If we don’t go no deal, it isn’t Brexit. We will be independent to the outsider but we will still have to abide by the EUs pathetic laws. Brexit will be so good for us, but big corporations are too greedy to accept that.
