Constitution Hill is a FREAK! Nicky Henderson's star bolts up in the Fighting Fifth! 

As a Newcastle lad i feel like i witnessed something that I might never see again it was that good.

The change of pace between the third and second last is the kind of thing the very best of flat horses show. What a prospect.

Well, what we are witnessing here is beyond special. Constitution hill. Wow

His position, height, speed of how he clears the hurdles is near perfect. Reminds of Istabraq

This horse is producing astonishing times without even being off the bridle and pulling up at the line

Constitution Hill has just made a Champion Hurdle winner look like a tree... I pray he stays healthy throughout his career, just to see what he achieves, his potential is frightening.

Good lord. Epatante made to look like a handicapper. Demolition job. This horse is potentially a superstar. We're talking Golden Cygnet level. Awesome.

Wow!!! 2 out it looked like they’d make a race of it but within seconds he went fro 1 length up to about 7 this is a pure machine and to be so highly rated for the amount of races he’s had says a lot about this horse the only thing that can stop this horse is injury

If this fella stays fit and healthy I think we are looking at a once in a lifetime horse, and the first since Dawn Run to win a champion hurdle and Gold cup, here’s hoping anyway

He looks amazing. As someone who has followed Honeysuckle since her earliest races, she is a firm favourite of mine, but this lad will take some beating if he stays on his feet. What a race the 2023 Champion Hurdle could be. To be fair, Epatante might just have given him a race, had he not made a really bad mistake at three out. It was all over at that moment.

Very early but I called it already, this is the best hurdler of all time already! Excellent jumper, strong traveller and his acceleration is unbelievable. Faugheen was a machine but this lad is a complete monster! Best I’ve seen definitely!

The effortless speed injection between the third last & second last hurdles had to be seen to be believed no horse in training will beat him honeysuckle has literally no chance

To start making istabraq comparisons is ridiculous but this horse is something else. So so slick over his hurdles and that gear change has to be one of the best I’ve seen. His last hurdle jump probably best I’ve seen, eased down.

Its that change of gear when ridden, goes 6/7 lengths clear before you’ve even realised it’s happened. Epatante was right there approaching 3 out then just seconds later he was miles behind. Only the very best horses capable of this. Reminds me of Sprinter Sacre how he saunters clear

I was totally astonished when I saw that Honeysuckle was 7/2 for the champion hurdle. After seeing this I now see why. Scary performance

Until today I didn't rate the horse as high as most, I thought there might be a soft spot somewhere in his game, but after seeing that, I don't think there is a horse in the world that will touch him once there is no mistakes from him jumping. Don't think honeysuckle will beat him either. Was too economical over hurdles, how quick he can jump them and see a stride approaching it is unparalleled at this moment. He hasn't put a foot wrong, and he even puts himself right at hurdles without the jockey wanting him too . He's a smart smart horse. Maybe and quite possibly the best hurdler we will see in our lifetime.

He has a long way to go before he can be rated as the Greatest as it's longevity which cements that. Judging on raw ability though, I think he beats any hurdler in history already and he's only a 5yo. We're witnessing something very special here.

Could have won by 20L and already rated 176 after that. It’s not just his engine and gears, it’s his brilliant hurdling technique, a deadly combination. With more to come he will likely be a 180+ great.

The most naturally talented hurdler I've seen since Golden Cygnet . Night Nurse and Istabraq were also special , but Constitution Hill looks extra special. I just hope Nicky Henderson doesn't sending him chasing for a couple of years at least.

he`s a big horse, has a great stride, takes the hurdles easy, he`ll win the champion hurdle in 2023 and then may step up to fences.

I always thought that racing was denied the best hurdler in my lifetime when Golden Cygnet was tragically killed on jumping the second last when cantering all over Sea Pigeon in the Scottish Champion Hurdle of 1978. Epatante, the Champion Hurdle winner of 2020 and dead-heat joint winner of last year's Fighting Fifth with Not So Sleepy was annihilated by Constitution Hill without coming off the bridle. His acceleration from jumping two out to leave these two toiling in his wake was phenomenal. I pray that he stays fit and well and also he is allowed to run on the flat because IMO he is capable of winning a group race given a little cut. That performance was beyond breathtaking.... OMG!

He looks a very good horse....... He beat Epatante that is a good horse and at one time was a excellent horse but she is getting older. Honeysuckle will be a tough horse to beat if she holds her form at the same level as last year. Constitution Hill might end up being a beast but he hasn't won a champion hurdle yet and that's when you can compare him to legends of the past....... I wish Constitution Hill and the Henderson team the best of luck and hopefully him and honeysuckle stay fit and we get to see a champion hurdle to remember

Constitution Hill is clearly an outstanding horse but it will be interesting to see where Willie Mullins goes with Facile Vega next season.

There is absolutely no doubt that Constitution Hill is a hurdler right out of the top drawer and could well be one of the best we have seen. I have gone over the form of the Sky Bet Supreme Novices Hurdle, and of those horses that finished so far behind Constitution Hill in that race, four of them went on to record six wins between them since the Cheltenham race. Jonbon (2nd) won at Aintree in April, and recently won the first chase he contested at Warwick. Kilcruit (3rd) has run twice since and won both of them, a hurdle race and a chase. Mighty Potter who was unplaced behind CH has since won the only two races he has run in. Even Silent Revolution , who was pulled up behind CH has won a small race at Chepstow. Bring On The Night (4th) ran a very close second in the Ascot Stakes on the Flat in the summer. It is usually a good indication of just how strong the form of a race is when the horses that finished behind the winner uphold the form of the race in question, and that is certainly true of the Sky Bet Supreme. Clearly, Constitution Hill is a top class hurdler and will take all the beating this season.

Great performance.Ive seen performances like that before especially top class 2 milers.Has to be seen what he can achieve but has it all to be a great.If the horse stays fit and healthy it has every chance but with racing alot can go wrong.I hope he is a great but has to be proven first and thats not easy

What we have to remember here is Epatante is a, still very good, multiple Grade 1 winner and Constitution Hill put her to the sword in a matter of strides...not forgetting what he did to Jonbon who may as well be given the Arkle now. I love Honeysuckle, she's a wonderful racemare, but she's got a task on her hands with this lad. Will be interesting to see what he's got off the bridle So far though, machine. Nothing else to say really

ITV racing guy Ed Chamberlain chastised Nicky Henderson for withdrawing Constitution Hill because of the ground and the horse's welfare and safety being of paramount importance ! Move forward a week ,the horse bolts in at the Fighting Fifth hurdle and Matt Chapman ,Mr Ed's colleague,says the horse is the best hurdler he's ever seen ! If the horse would have run in the dead ,tacky ground at Ascot last week ,who knows what injuries it may have sustained on the horrible ground . Chamberlain owes Mr Henderson a huge apology for his childish attitude . There are true experts in racing and there are novices who always get found out due to being a tenderfoot ........!

The Best Hurdler i`ve ever seen was Golden Cygnet who remarkably as a Novice was cantering all over Night Nurse, Sea Pigeon and Beacon light in the `78 scottish champion hurdle. Such a shame that he was ill fated. Let`s not get too carried away yet with Constitution Hill. He looks a potential champion but remember also Monsignor he had similar potential but injury wrecked his career. There Will be Honeysuckle and some irish contenders for him to deal with. Remember only last month Baaeed was being hailed as the 2nd coming and we know how that ended.

He's as exciting an english hurdler I can remember. Still to win 1 champion hurdle though so the Istabraq comparison can wait for a while. However, us english finally have a 2m hurdler that can compete with the irish which can only be good for the game. I suspect that if he gets to cheltenham the other jockeys will try to crowd him to test his jumping in a battle.

Not to piss on anyone’s parade in the uk this mare has never been beaten in 16 races just a thought one is 8 to 11 one is 5 to 1 this is crazy. Honeysuckle has a better jockey this is crazy crazy talk. They are going turn in coming up that hill and one has won it twice and one has broken the track record . I’ll take the mare personally at the prices

Obviously Epitante needed the race today. Constitution won nothing yet, Goshen looked amazing and similar things were being said and he has turned out to be bang average. In a battle he might bottle it, lots of horses are happy to trail 2nd as they feel safe with one in front....animal instincts. Not saying thats what's gonna happen...but it could easily happen. Talent wise yes.... he's brill but he's gotta win a big race first...then a 2nd big race...then a 3rd big race before you start comparing him to greats like Honeysuckle and Istabraaq. Honestly just thought while watching this if you seen the last like what 6 races he has had even at cheltenham the other day constitution hill he has not once pushed him trough the gears to press on down to he finish... Now it makes me wonder if he is like this when he common canters home to win by margining lengths beating other god ass horses then it makes you wonder certainly for me that lets say he has to get constitutional hill going through all the gears because he has not shown that yet which i hope is never though.

I love this horse and think he's the best I've seen in a long time, I just don't think he should go chasing, I genuinely think he could go his whole career undefeated if staying over hurdles
