Amos Singletary ---- ( Representative from Sutton, Massachusetts during The Constitutional Ratification Process ; a Constitution written by a few men -- unappointed / self-appointed -- behind deliberately locked doors ! ) :: _" These lawyers [ The Framers of the Constitution ] and men of learning and moneyed men 📌 that talk so finely and gloss over matters so smoothly, 📌 to make us poor, illiterate people swallow down the pill, expect to get into Congress themselves, they expect to be the managers of this Constitution, and get all the powers and all the money into their hands, and then they will swallow up all of us little folks like the Great Leviathan ... "_ 📌 Amos Singletary's point about The Framers' talking so finely and glossing over matters so smoothly, are extremely well-taken as The Founders have come down in History as great writers who wrote in glorified terms for the Posterity of History and acting differently in reality, hiding their major reason for overthrowing the AOC to strengthen their Property-Rights under a new Constitution that better represented their Land-Owning, Slave-Owning, Class-Interests.
I’m 55 years old, retired w/24 years from the US Navy. I try to remember what I learned in school and I try to brush up on the basics. I found this information very helpful and the format is accessible to me as an older person. I recommend this channel to anyone from middle school years and up from there into old age. May I say, well done!
The "weaknesses" of the articles of Confederation are only "weaknesses" from the perspective of a federalist. If the states are instead viewed as independent nations who choose to participate in a loose association with other states/countries (a confederation) then the articles of confederation are not weak, but merely serving it's purpose to prevent a strong federal government from dictating to the individual states/countries acceptable laws, etc. It also, to a degree, prevents people of different worldviews from being forced to be yoked together. In other words, liberal parts of California, New York cannot force conservative flyover states (or the more conservative parts of CA and NY for.having to participate in liberal ideas and laws.) And it also goes vive versa. All of modern our political/governmental problems extend from forcing diametrically opposes worldviews being forced to work together trying to row a boat successfully while doing there best to row in completely opposite directions.
You're spot on my friend. Many forget the fact that the so-called antifederalists were founders too. History seems to have proven them right. Just look at the monstrosity our government has morphed into under the Constitution.
This was the best Federalist vs Antifederalist video I watched on RU-vid. It is engaging and fun and I used it for my school portfolio. It helped me a lot. Thank you!!!!!!!
Abraham Lincoln a anti federalists a Republican of the blue party ie blue belly, ..Democrat ie whigs ie confederation ie federalism ie the red party, an anti bill's.
Yeah.. because raising armies and taxing while creating never ending wasted money was such a great idea. Call me an AntiFederalist, but.. it’s long past time to prohibit and stop the madness.
What you need to know about this vid. Important Federalists: John jay, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and George Washington. Main common supporters of federalism were the wealthy class and national government. Federalists believed in a strong central government and that as long as they were carful they would not be affected by tyranny.
Their definition of "tyranny" was the popular threat from below ; from the landless masses ! Shay's Rebellion was unforgettable, if unspoken, when they wrote The New Constitution !
@@lemmetalktou because on the right we believe in natural rights. The founders created America as a Republic, not a democracy. If we didn't have left wing people who would subvert the constitution then the government would not be able to trample on the natural rights of it's citizens. At least that's their position. They created a government that would only be suitable for a "moral and religious" people. When people without morals lie to seek power, have no understanding of what America is or the philosophy of liberty that inspired the founding of the country.... They have no issue trampling on individual rights. The founding fathers assumed the system would be strong enough as they had created it. Then voting was expanded as democrats pursued a democracy over a Republic. Intelligent people throughout history have despised democracy, everyone from Plato to and Socrates to the founding fathers. Democracy is not synonymous with freedom and personal liberty. The school system has been dumbed down to the point where people will hour for hours attempting to defend "democracy" but they can't even adequately tell the difference between democracy and a Republic. The reality of we removed uninformed voters we could begin fixing the country and the anti science party, the party that created bad economic policies, the party of slavery, etc... Many bad issues would have been solved if we didn't have democrats aka uninformed voters. Or if we forced all citizens to have a minimum competence before being able to vote. We could easily provide training materials in video format for free... You simply need to spend the time necessary to become informed enough to vote. That would fix many issues in society
