Fun fact, there's actually alot of good lore and development for the characters in the movies that they never show, like bonecruhsers unending hate for all things that live, or how devastator is actually in immense pain the entire time the cons fuse and the cons themselves despise turning into devastator form the immense strain it puts on them physically and mentally.
Fun fact. There is a reason why devastator was modeled like a hunchback. If he was able to stand up on his hind legs, the constructions would experience excruciating pain and the whole thing would fall to cons
Yeah, his full height is 100ft tall, but due to how top-heavy Devastator is, he has to move on all fours, so he only rises to about 45ft when on all fours
Fun fact: Devastator is one of the most render CGI character, that it took over power of Hard Drive, so a lot of Render that it crashed and nearly deleted it's process.
My comment may be overshadowed by other viewers, but let me just say this, your talent as an animator is undoubtedly one of the best I've seen anywhere. You deserve a spot as one of the contributors for the upcoming TF4 movie, seriously! I honestly mean it, bro! SIMPLY AMAZING! :)
Layers, SO MANY LAYERS. Dude, every time I see one of these in my feed I know I'm in for a real technical treat. I'd love to see you attempt some G1 and/or Fall of Cybertron designs.
Hey o! I’m surprised people are commenting now, of all times. Like, why in 2022 for god sake? Did people only notice until 2022? Maybe you weren’t popular in 2021, but now are in 2022… that’s my bet at least.
Damn this is still some good quality animation even 4 years later. Its been a while since i watched this. Surprisingly this is much better than in the movie and it shows all of Devastators functions much better than the movie.
no way it's better than the movie. far better sound design and the use of 3d models is much more impressive than this despite still being super impressive. it really looks like a hulking machine with thousands of moving parts.
I know Michael Bay's version of Devastator is pretty controversial for how far it strays from G1 (the wrecking balls), but it kinda makes sense in-universe for him to be a being of total destruction. On Cybertron, the Constructions could be used individually for construction of new buildings, and they could combine when a condemned building needs to be taken down and the rubble removed quickly.
ok but like can we all appreciate how good the animation is? if you look at his other stuff, this is a great deviation of what his normal style looks like. to not only try a different animation style but to make it move and look absolutely FANTASTIC is noteworthy to say the least.
Imagine how much of a nightmare this thing is in Cybertron, Autobots on their fortress feeling the wind getting stronger and hearing thunder-like stomps, and they see at their front, a giant beast sucking up their comrades, artilleries and destroying their walls
@@jack_copperz You mean Predaking? Yeah, that's no Decepticon Dragon, that is the leader of the Predacons Tecnically built by the Decepticons, but another faction
I love this! I think this is a really cool take on devastator. Instead of being like just a giant gundam or kaiju he’s instead a rampaging monster with 8 different minds in one body.
Binging all these flash animations right now, and all these have been bringing back many memories. I remember flipping out when I saw this video drop. With his absence being in the military and the long hours he put in to make Devastator, this was well worth the wait. The animation still impresses me to this day. Timeless
i know the rotf movie wasnt great but even so this devastator is fricking menacing. id probably run farther away from this beast than a green and purple giant blocky robot.
Did you know that Hasbro confirmed Yellow Bulldozer to be the Scrapmetal? Because when they saw Scrapmetal in the Studio Series Devastator they proceeded to confirm Yellow Bulldozer to be the Scrapmetal. Also, Hasbro Pulse confirmed Devastator to be made up of 8 Constructicons.
Devastator’s stuff: The head is parts from scavanger Has a turret Has a wrecking ball/hightowers weapon Has missiles on back Long haul the one shielding himself Skipjack as the legs and scrapmetal/little one was apart of skipjack and used for parts for him as the leg payload & buckethead were part of the combiner Overload as the belly Has a vortex grindor Overload has the balls.
Top Torso- Scavenger Head- MixMaster Lower Torso- OverLoad Left Hand and Arm- Scrapper Right Arm- HighTower Right Hand- SkipJack Left Leg and Foot- LongHaul Right Leg- PayLoad Right Foot- Rampage Fellas I got it so wrong, I'm actually cringing how off I was, I'm sorry. 3 years later, here's my update: Head- Mixmaster Top torso- Scavenger Lower Torso- Overload Left Arm/Hand- Scrapper Right Upper Arm- Scrapmetal (somehow) Right Arm- Hightower Right hand- (named Buckethead or Nurse) Left Leg/Foot- Long Haul Right Leg- Payload (yellow Long Haul) Right Foot- Skipjack (yellow worm) I looked it up and watched the scene, the all appear. Idk why Scrapmetal appears again since he died, but he's there I guess
TerminatorCow02 Raddish2002 Umm... It's Head: Mixmaster Upper Torso: Scavenger Lower Torso: Overload Right Arm: Scrapper Left Arm/Hand: Hightower/Skipjack? Right Leg: Long Haul Left Leg: Rampage I don't know where you got Payload from... O.o
@@thejoker15678 then why is it that we see another truck with skipjack which was yellow? and scrapmetal is an excavator and we all know that devastator's hands are not excavators scrapmetal goes behind hightower and another constructicon named buckethead becomes the hand watch "constructicon misconceptions" by TransTheories
@@orhandalegend Oh, that could Yellow Dump Truck or maybe Payload he was watching The Constructicons combine into Devastator and attack, he was standing in a hill.
scavenger or overload couldve shifted parts around to turn into the head, since in mixmaster's vehicle mode theres no red, but in overload and scavenger's vehicle mode, their main color is red.
*MrUsername* _ unless he's trying to disguise HIMself ( because devastators limbs are drones and he doesn't activate his actual brain until the head is active ) he benefits more from just staying in devastator mode because then at least he knows where all of him is
I love how movie accurate this animation is, right down to the little details, such as the tendrils that emerge from Scavenger to connect the head and arms, the way Devastator struggles to lift his head, or the small yellow bulldozer (does he have a name?) combining with Hightower to form the hand. The way Overload shifts sideways at the start bugs me though...awesome work anyway!
I grew up with this. I still dream of the day that this UNIT comes to earth and decides to roleplay as Godzilla or the Tarasque. Here is hoping for July.
For having no writers, I think the movie was good (yeah, they just handed a vague description of the plot over and basically said "make this movie". Even one of the characters in the movie knows more a out story elements than the person who made it)
@@Breakaway-ic5gj ikr, and it really shows, because sometimes a decepticon will die and then show up again 5 seconds later in another scene, or even be at two places at once. in the underwater scene, they kill the wrong decepticon model because the animators didnt know which was which
If you ask me, the real reason why people hated this guy is because it was related to devastator by name. If it was called something else, maybe "Abominator" or "Colocrusher" it would've been better.
