Constructing a Giant Golden Throne Diorama from Warhammer 40,000

Totally agree, I thought the longer, narrower arches looked better, and were a welcome departure from repeating the same tile dimensions found elsewhere in the build.

Well thank you very much for the feedback! You do have a very valid point and I can see what you mean about breaking up the secondary shapes. I think I will revisit some of the arches I cut out but possibly make the openings a little wider so a bit more of the machinery can be seen. I want to make sure that the build melds together well visually so well definitely continue to test out designs before gluing anything down. I am glad you like the pillars! They are also still a bit of a work in progress and will take on board your point about the top of them 🙂. Not bad for £3 though 😉. Thank you very much for the feedback. I consider this build in large part to be a community endeavour as it’s had a lot of community suggestions and ideas incorporated in to it. That’s a very cool idea! We are definitely looking at having some LEDS behind stain glass panels on the back wall of the diorama and could certainly use them elsewhere in the build. I just want to make sure I get the right balance of lighting for the project as sometimes being a bit more sparing with LEDS might enhance the project more 🙂. Nevertheless we will definitely be experimenting with ideas so thank you for the suggestion!

@@imperiumnihilus nah is a bit of a joke. John Blanche said in an interview that his idea for his depiction of the emperor on the golden throne was that it was actually a big prop for people to worship and the actual emperor's body was kept in a life support system deep inside the palace in terra. Which kinda makes sense, why would you show off your biggest and most important asset to the public like that even with (literally) all the security in the world. im not too versed in golden throne lore tho but the idea that the big skeleton daddy they show off is imperial propaganda is interesting to me.

@@mattmatt1302 you know what that actually rings a bell 😂. It absolutely does make sense as an explanation. There is so much mystery and lore around the Golden throne so I am aware that might build might not be 100% accurate. I find all the theories really interesting though and can definitely embrace a certain amount of tinfoil 😉

That’s really kind of you to say! It’s been and continues to be a very large undertaking but I have had great support from the community and am really looking forward to progressing with the build and eventually sharing the finished product with you guys 🙂. Most of them aren’t glued at the moment but the ones that are have been stuck down using ‘no more nails’. It’s more heavy duty stuff and helps keep them flat 🙂🤘
