How is SiD a part of the Construction Safety Management System? The design itself is based on manufacturing (legal) specifications and Engineering works within those constraints to deliver the work package or design packages. With that said, I don't see how Safety in Design has anything to do with Construction Safety Managment?

Hi Taron, SiD considers the safety of those who construct, operate, clean repair and demolish an asset. So yes, you are correct that the design is done in accordance with standards and specifications to ensure the safety of end users. However, a propoer SiD approach considers safety of workers during the contsruction phase as well. Does that answer your question?

@@ConstructIQ First and foremost, I would like to thank you for posting a video of your Construction Safety Management Program. My question was more related to your use of OSHA's 29 CFR 1910 vs. OSHA's 29 CFR 1926. If your Construction Safety Management Plan includes Process Safety, then I would challenge the title of your video. With that said, your safety video is well presented.

@@taroncolenburg9264 thanks Taron. Yes, maybe you are right. I've tried to cover everything that is used to reduce the risk of safety incidents on site. I'm actually preparing a course at the moment that covers construction safety in general

Hello Skillsy, I hope that all is well and that you have hit the ground running in 2023! I wanted to follow up with you about the last messages that we shared. I believe that the perfect bridge between Construction Safety Management, and Equipment Safety (or Safety in Design) is the Commissioning Phase. Usually, the Commissioning Phase is where your Safety in Design is verified. The Commissioning Phase allows you to segue into any of your Plant Specific Safety Procedures. The Commissioning Phase is a great bridge between 1926 and 1910.
