Excellent overview, even makes using the construction calculator more understandable for me by visually seeing the info in this lesson.

Hi good morning How many courses of block (8" × 8" x 16") are needed to build a wall that is 8' 8" tall?
@ConstructionEd
@ConstructionEd 11 месяцев назад
You should be able to calculate that based on the content in the lesson. just divide the block height into the overall wall height - but remember to allow for the joints

老师,你讲的例子都是整数的换算,没有小数或者分数的换算,而实际测量中,数据往往不是整数。例如物体:长:15ft4in3/4 , 宽:21ft7in5/8 , 高:39ft6in15/16,那它的平方和立方怎么运算?分别是多少呢?如果这个物体是直接三角形,那么它的斜边是多少?又怎么运算?由于不是十进制,英制单位运算起来好复杂 Teacher, the examples you gave are all conversions of integers, not decimals or fractions. In actual measurements, the data are often not integers. For example, if an object has length: 15ft4in3/4, width: 21ft7in5/8, and height: 39ft6in15/16, how to calculate its square and cube? What are the differences? If this object is a direct triangle, what is its hypotenuse? How to calculate it? Since it is not a decimal system, the calculation of imperial units is very complicated.

there is an error in your calculation at 11:55. multiplying by 27 does not convert cubic feet to cubic yards. you need to divided by 27...but I know you know that.

You are correct that we incorrectly made the slide and did not catch it. Thanks for calling it out. I wish RU-vid would allow me to make corrections to the videos like I can on Vimeo. OK off to fix a video and replace it... thanks again.
