Let’s hope the next three Hunter Class vessels actually take place given government proclivity to reduce orders. My hope is that the second tranche of ships are the ‘ upgunned’ variant offered by BAE systems, which involves including 96 VLS cells rather than the anaemic 32, given that our navy is desperately low VLS capability ( comparable to ships in our region )

Strategists in various places beyond our Nat'l borders have factored in WA being Independent before Aust is a Republic, and WA is on the Indian Ocean coast, and its called Indian Ocean for a reason... Indian industry can turn those sea going things out like sausages... in numerical supremacy & equal capability.
Rather than waste decades playing politics and negotiating pay conditions with workers, they should have just ordered these ships from overseas ship yards. Waiting till the 2030’s for new ships and 2040’s for submarines is just not good enough.
Clear need to speed up manufacturing and to build another destroyer maybe get Spain to build the Hull, also need to build another 2 Tobruk's to support the Islands!

The fact is that they have the Air Warfare Destroyers to benchmark against and they are well aware that the Future Frigates with the CEA radar fitted won't be anywhere near as capable as the Air Warfare Destroyers. Obviously they can't have my radar designs to make them world class so unless they do a complete redesign with a different radar and combat system they will be a waste of taxpayers money. BAE have been losing contracts worldwide for good reason. 😎🇦🇺👎
Really? We were getting 9 under the LNP, all Labor has done is cut it back to 6. They also cut the IFV order from 450+ back to 130, reduced the F35 order by 24, and the K9 SPA by 6, and they were handed the AUKUS deal on a platter. So please enlighten us as to what Labor has actually done to improve the ADF?

The U.S. has BECOME a INTERNATIONAL POLICE FORCE. They are DISRESPECTED, by GREAT BRITAIN, EUROPE, AUSTRALIA, IRELAND, FRANCE. The ONLY TIME we are EVEN RECOGNIZED, is when our AIRCRAFT CARRIERS, and our other MILITARY BRANCHES are NEEDED. I have BEEN to the U.K. and REST OF EUROPE, and AMERICANS, are LITERALLY DESPISED by these COUNTRIES. WE have over 130,000 U.S. MILITARY BURIED in FOREIGN CEMETERIES. It's time we START SHUTTING OVERSEAS MILITARY BASES DOWN, REDUCE OUR COMMITMENT TO NATO, and let the HOST COUNTRIES, ARM and TRAIN THEIR OWN MILITARY FORCES. We can then CUT OUR OWN COSTS FOR DEFENSE, WITHOUT PUTTING UP WITH WORLD DISRESPECT. ESPECIALLY SINCE NORWAY, SPAIN, AND IRELAND ARE RECOGNIZING FRONTS FOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS.
