Over the past 2 decades, the Turkish people have proved to the world that they can accomplish just about anything if they put their mind to it. They have so many accomplishments in education, manufacturing, and much more. Hats off to the Turkish people. You are an inspiration to all nations who are suffering from poverty and lack of hope, there is hope. Just unite and set goals.
@geeralseenspeer I'm not Turkish, but I do like to speak by facts. Your absolutely wrong my friend. Turkey within the past 20 years is now ranked the 17'th largest economy in the world and the middle class has climbed up from just 18% 20 years ago to 41% now. As for the poverty line, in the US 16% live below the poverty line, and in Turkey 21% which is incredible considering where they were 20 years ago. They were in great debt, bad economy, and low income. They paid their debts, and even loaned other countries, their income is good, the country is not expensive to live in, and basic needs like food is very cheap in comparison with other major countries. In recent history, no country has made this comeback like Turkey so quickly other than Germany after WW2 and Japan after WW1.
That’s not even a joke. By the time we build anything it’s already out dated. The High Speed Rail is already behind the times with Japan’s trains more cutting edge so by the time ours is build and complete it will be like a steam engine by comparison. Just a big money making scam
it is a good thing to spend the time to really understand the impact, because when you dont, like in the example of Istanbul Airport, you end up wasting billions just because politicians wanted to show off, destroying an entire forest/wetland ecosystem in the process... you guys are doing it the right way...

If you look at turkey you can tell people there are one of the most hardworking people and smartest people we have. I know we have China and other countries with great creations, but the people of turkey have a good heart which cannot be beat.
For those who are curious about the need of this big airport; Check the location of Istanbul (Africa, ME, Europe) then compare the alternative routes for passenger and cargo flights. (Germany leads at it atm iirc). Vaguely calculate the profit of choosing this new route. It was not built to show off, was built for mid and long terms benefits in mind. Istanbul also has connection to 3 continents via seas and railways. A bonus conclusion, you will see one of the reasons why Turkey is getting pressure from certain EU countries topping recently.
Congrats to Turkey! What a achievement and I have flown Turkish Airlines in the past and they are excellent! Not surprised as Turkish people are great in hospitality industry.Amazing video on the airport construction and time to complete. Even though I am not from Turkey I fell it’s important to recognise other country successes and wish them well!
It is because in US there is more law about workers protection, in Turkey a lot workers die in the building but it was censured by the Gov so nobody know. Sad but 42 months of dead and difficulty life for the workers...

I am a person living in Turkey and I can say that the working conditions are not as bad as you mentioned.Despite the low income people are respectively safe in the construction field.Not like how it goes in many Arabian countries though.

If you want best examples I can give u countries like Switzerland, Finland, Luxembourg, and other very high life quality countries. But I took for eg the us. Cause in USA weed or death penalty also exists...
I worked in This Project as a Architectural Works Cheif. I have huge experiences like this Project. I am very happy. We completed all milestones. New Istanbul Airport !! We are fastest. We are TURKISH!!!!

I just saw this video after finish my work day in THIS AIRPORT AND FELT HONORED. You must see here in real. You cant even imagine how big it is. By bus or car any vehicle it takes 10 minutes to come inside from entrance to departure or arrival.
The main idea of this airport was to make it a connection point between continents, and they managed that. I think they are organizing those to close gates.

When you see construction on this scale, makes you proud, we are pretty impressive as a species! I mean we have our brilliant moments, and some that uhhh we should forget but damn. This is a work of art. On to Mars we go.

@Daljit Singh İstanbul Airport's termianl building is 1.4 million square meters. Entire airport area is 76 square kilometers. They have shaved over 30 meters of soil and rock from that area. You can build a dozen delhi airport just with that shaving effort. BTW 30000 construction workers worked here. Engineers, drivers etc. not included. They worked in such hasty conditions nonstop 400 people died in construction.
Here in UK British companies will take 50 years to build and over budget by trillions...for a simple bridge in Scotland called the queens ferry bridge has taken gallifordtry 6yrs to build...what a joke...

@Mitzi Rascal yes correct!. Indeed only through the chosen One we have eternal salvation. I was trying to say that our Lord Jesus Christ is ultimately in control of everything and everyone. Scripture says " Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows" - James 1:17. In other words, they may be Muslims, but God enabled them to do this work of art. Knowledge and wisdom come from Him.
God could've easily brought bad weather to impede the employees from working; The possibilities of how He could've prevented this airport from being constructed are endless!. He is God after all, isn't He?. Now, yes they are condemned to hell, if their trust doesn't rest upon Christ before they die.

Our life was so exhausting Our relatives had on so much pain and pressure about life experience that's why Our community are hardworking So 42 moths are nothing for us :)
