Hello. Chris Konkle here. Just to give you a heads up. If you click on any of the links in my video descriptions or on my website, you will be led to Amazon. I am an associate and will receive a commission on any purchases you make. My goal is to make it easy. For people who do not know what real contractors use for tools, personal protective equipment, equipment, services or any other procured items. Also, easy for experienced trades people by having all the items neatly organized and grouped together for quick and easy purchasing. There are millions of different products available out there. I only promote those that I have either personally used or have fully researched and believe they will deliver value to you.
It takes a lot of time and money from myself to bring you all the free content. Our message is to master construction and be an industry leader. Then you can train other workers to be quality trades people that value organization and leadership and use problem solving to ensure project success. This message promotes good ethics and practices in both business and work.
Construction Kronies is affiliated with Amazon.com, Merch by Amazon, Skill Share, Streamlabs and Tubebuddy. Please know that I have not received any free product or compensation from any of these companies for mentioning them on my website, in my video descriptions or videos themselves. The only form of compensation that I would receive is if there is a transaction made with those companies and I would receive a commission.
Thank you for your support.
Chris Konkle.

But I can’t wait to watch your other videos so I can prep for other things. I’m really having fun and enjoying the job. Cant wait to learn more about it. Just doing my time so I can save up money to get tickets to drive zoombooms and bobcats. :) bought my first hand tool. It’s a little wrench but it helps me do propane. I got a little wooden hammer at first cuz it was all I could buy and they made fun of it for a little bit. But now I got an ok hammer. The stiletto hammers look pretty cool too. haha! Our hours here are basically standard. 7 am first coffee at 930 and lunch at noon. Afternoon coffee though, now that can be different depending on your crews work hours. In drywall and steel stud the common thing to do is skip afternoon coffee and leave at 315. As a piece work crew we usually only take 1 break in the day around lunch and work 9 to 10 hours. What's it like in your area?

How much does It cost on average to have all the tools and work gear you need to start your career in construction?
@ConstructionKronies
@ConstructionKronies 6 лет назад
Boots are $250 - $300, Hard Hat $60, Carharts $140, Gloves $10 - $20, Belt with tool and screw pouch $170, Hammer $60, Tape Measure $25, so it can cost up to $775 CAD to be ready to go. Remember this, if you can't afford to buy all of this up front, then you have the option to start as a laborer. You will not make as much money but it will give you the opportunity to save up the money and buy the tools over time. No matter what you will need to spend upwards of $450 for your PPE and proper work site clothing so if you can stretch it, do it. Workers with tools are much more valuable!

@ConstructionKronies
@ConstructionKronies 4 года назад
Cool man! There is a lot to know but the most important is this; Safety. be safe, make sure that you are shown how to do a proper hazard assessment, that they orientate you with company policy and for each and every site you go to. If you show up every day, listen to the more experienced workers, never try to suggest doing something differently than what you are being shown, just do it and over time you can develop your own systems. They say be all ears, zero mouth and keep your eyes open. Be sure to always read the Safe work practices and job procedures for the tasks you are doing, you can request a copy of the company health and safety manual, they should all be digital by now, and read those at night. If you ever have questions you can always come back here! I am working on a whole new video series for new workers right now too! Good luck and be safe!

@ConstructionKronies
@ConstructionKronies 3 года назад
No it will only slow your development down. Get a 25' imperial only fat max. You will get it. Just worry about 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 and 7/8. We don't use 1/16s at all. We will say a number like 5/8 small or 5/8 big to reference the 1/16 on either side of that number. Just learning, 1/8's and 1/4's is all you need. I will show you on my next live stream if you can make it, 730pm MST mon to Thursday and 8am Sundays.

haha yeah so I don't know if you have ever tried to play sports in lose boxers not the tight ones, they get wet from sweat and fall apart? Also chaffing. It's better to wear tight boxer jockey type like saxx of something, chaffing is very painful. You can still have it happen when your working hard with no days off it can still happen but your better protected with tight shorts for sure.
