If I had a rupee for every time someone asked me for the E-mail of the HR in my last organisation, I would be able to to book Delhi-Bangalore business class ticket without even using credit card points (check out last reel for context). 🌟
Anyway, what most people don’t know is that dropping a direct e-mail to the HR or even applying on a company website is not the most optimal way of applying for a new job. 🫡
But then, what is the best way to apply to your dream company, especially if that company does not hire dirdctly from your college? 😥
Employee referrals! ✨
I remember when I was working at Bain, we got emails to refer people in our network on the regular, right from entry level to the senior most positions. 👩🏻💻
Here is one way to do it:
- Make use of social media networks such as LinkedIn to reach out to these employees. You will get a complete list of people in your network who might already be working there and also a list of all the employees in that organisation. 💻
- Drop a well drafted message to 3-5 of these people with the request for a referral. 🔗
- There is a very high probability that most of them will reply as companies offer high referral bonuses to employees if the person they referred actually ends up joining the organisation! 🙌🏼
