@@rugoshath It’d be really cool to see some reunion shows from some of those bands for sure. In my younger days growing up in Minneapolis I played in a few bands that played similar style songs. The thing about that is if you dig deep enough more than likely someone’s already played the same chord progression before you haha. Definitely wrote more than a few songs only to hear the almost exact same chords and d-beats played on 7 inches that came out when I was in elementary school hahah. I personally would love it if bands would get back to playing heavier more frantic crust in the style of His Hero Is Gone.

Same here. Other projects with similar members, too. Calloused, Shitlist, Deathraid, Nightfeeder (current), Chickenchest etc. bang-on compositions and energy. The "Logical Limits Exceeded" riff has been done by Dismachine on track 'Pascal'. Led Astray is my favorite of all, though. Love when that Motorhead vibe is achieved with filthy Crustitude. That’s a really good comparison. We used to refer to consume as “Wild West crust”. Death raid is the new band the remainder of this band did later. Good song writing and drumming.

This is what "Crust" should be associated with.This sound, in my opinion, defined what "Crust" is. High-energy, aggressive, raw & uncompromising. The term is so bastardized today that I tend to avoid using it.
