I'm pretty sure your mother had HSN and you could watch that all day. Additionally, we found shopping at the mall enjoyable due to the amazing sales and having all the stores in one place. It reflects how the U.S. is a consumer-driven country where purchasing goods helps stimulate the economy.

Knock-offs are the worst. They fund criminal organizations, human trafficking, and who knows what other crimes and acts. Of course, they also hurt artists and authors who earn nothing from those knock offs. And this issue is so rampant.

This was such an interesting discussion! I’m honestly still rather new to tarot, but I’m so glad that you and some of the other tarot channels I watch have talked about the difference between real and knockoff decks. I purchased what I thought was going to be a beautiful deck many years ago in the very early days of eBay and essentially got scammed, so I’ve always been afraid to try for another deck. Hopefully, I can use these tips to find a real deck for myself one day! As for consumerism, I feel like just being on RU-vid makes dancing along that line difficult. I try to promote the idea that using what we already have or getting things secondhand is best (mostly with regards to clothing and crafting), but even then, I’ve found that the videos that perform best are almost always hauls of some sort. The algorithm loves encouraging people to be in a buying mood, it seems. Thanks for the suggestions on where to find affordable decks!

Amazing video covering various points💯 I don't understand why people complain about the prices of things, when there is a WIDE range of low to high end prices for all budgets. It's not just tarot, it's also clothes, tech, makeup, food, every product AND service on Earth. If something isn't affordable for someones budget, they're not obligated to get it. If they really want it, they can save up. I've always been someone on a tight budget having to be selective of what I could buy and what's truly important, so I only buy decks under $20 and saved up to buy Vanessa's Pastel Journey for over $40. Most of my deck collection has been gifted in exchange for tarot readings. A few were knockoffs, because people don't know art like I do. I'm also on the side where I wouldn't intentionally purchase a knockoff (or Ai deck), because I value the experience and work that goes into creating 78 individual freakin art pieces. The issue is not tarot creators, it's capitalism since the beginning of time. It's the reason the rich get richer through exploitation and manipulation, and everyone else feels pressure to buy buy buy all the things(especially now that it's easier at the click of a button). Then people throw away their morals by joining in the exploiting or are trying to compete within trends to get noticed(on social media, RU-vid, & seller platforms). The point of Spirituality is to live in peace within and without, to live consciously, to ascend together. We're not taking any of our material possessions with us after death. What matters is what we did with our lives

19:17 While I understand where Mixtress and yourself are coming from, if you're watching a youtuber who is not from the US but they state the price from their country, you're still going to have to look up the deck to see what the price is in your country. I personally don't care if someone states the price or not as long as they show what I'm looking for in an unboxing or flip-through or review (the cards and the guidebook structure), I personally can look up the price of the deck myself.

Good video. ❤ I do believe though, anything is only original once….from that point on, it is only a copy. I haven’t created a tarot deck, yet…but I have created music and we sold 500 hundred copies of our cd…that was all we had produced…lol…small time stuff 😊 But, regardless, I still own rights to that music, in which, if anyone wanted to use that music they would then have to pay for the right to use it, or copy it. If they did not pay, then yes it would be theft….but, as a creator…I would encourage the sale of the right to use my creation…because I would then receive a royalty from that. Would that be the same for the art in a tarot deck? I cannot say for sure. I know that you can buy copies of famous paintings, also. So whoever owns the right to the original would be paid? First of all, I am humbled by your mention and shoutout. I enjoyed your perspective, and money saving tips. Now about the knockoffs. When I first got involved with tarot tube, I was gifted decks from friends encouraging me to go for it. They did not know the difference and to be honest, in the beginning neither did I. I was gifted some knockoffs (purchased on Amazon) and was happy because they were smaller decks and was more usable for my small hands. Now, I know better. I agree with your viewpoint that it's theft. I kept one of them as my "travel" deck because it the same size as a MM pocket size of the same deck. The others I don't know what to do with. The ones I really connected with, I've purchased replacement standard size decks. I'm now hesitant to consider a pocket edition unless I can buy the directly from creator.

Prices of decks are so fluctuating these days. Just bought a deck off Amazon for €15. Week after that it was priced at €27,95…

Your point about speed vs quality vs expense was really poignant. Not something that gets addressed very often. ❤ I am also not ok with knock offs...though, in my case, its not something that will break a friendship. I dont know why but i suspect its because i lack energy to address it when it comes up. 🤔
