I’d also like to add that sometimes you can’t even make it to an entire month with some monthlies no matter how well you clean and how free of allergens you are. Sometimes they just become too dry and uncomfortable to wear by the third week or even earlier!
For the year for my monthly’s cost €110 that includes eye solution, I get them from feelgood contacts I wear comfi air 🤩 great brand really loving them
Dr. Hayden, thanks for putting my mind at ease on this. I agree with your analysis having had both kinds of lenses. For me, the Dailies AquaComfort are superb. Great travel convenience; even comfortable for infrequent wear; rugged enough for limited re-use. My costs came to $300 clear, after a debit card rebate of $150; so, $450 initially.
Even cleaning them as prescribed, the monthly and two week lens multi purpose solutions do not get everything off. It is amazing how much improvement we can see moving a patient with environmental allergies from a monthly to a daily modality.
That would be fantastic if we could move beyond the lens perspective of contacts and just pop a pill to get clear vision I can no longer wear contacts I've been wearing them for 38 years Age is a major factor why people stop wearing them I'm 51 now
I think I would rather pay a bit more for the Precision1 daily disposable lens - made by same company, Alcon. Better lens for those who wear their contacts daily all day. Also much better breathability - dk/t
