Greetings Cynthia , Your garden looks lovely. This week I am transplanting corn and potatoes into my garden. Like you, I was not happy with my shipment of sweet potatoes slips either. What a shame cause I bought them from a major catalog company and paid a good amount of money for them. Next year hopefully I’ll use my own from this year’s harvest. I see you use zip ties in your garden. I found that Harbor Freight carries them in stainless steel for a decent price. They are much more durable than the plastic ones. Thanks for sharing your garden.

Hi Clory I have to get on the corn and potatoes too. I have to remember that about the zip ties. They have shipped my Sweet Potatoes so I have got some spots ready prayerfully they are in good shape.

Hi Cynthia….this is follow up to the question about sweet potato slips being shipped without roots.. Johnny Seeds website said that some growers prefer shipping them bare root. I guess it works because those rootless slips are now growing.

Those strawberries look delicious! I don't think I will continue to grow okra or squash in my raised beds. I am going to plant them in pots next year. Looking good over there.

you're right abou the garlic soon after you get the scapes the tops will yellow more and they will be ready to harvest. i do the same with my stacking planters i dont make them too tall because i dont want them blown over.

Thanks for an informative and inspiring tour. Do you have info about direct sowing? Next week is forecasteed to be a scorcher! Will it help direct sowing? Yout friend, Mary

Hi thank you a good time to direct sow just don't let the seeds dry out. I would water twice morning and evening not a lot they just need to be kept moist. Good Luck 👍🏼
