In today’s video, I am going to talk about the book ‘Contemporary Critics and Critical Theories’ by Dr.Dushyant Nimavat. This is an ideal book for MA. M.Phil and NET aspirants. Not only I am going to review the book, but I will announce a giveaway where you can win a copy of this wonderful book.
Contemporary Critics and Critical Theories is written by Dr.Dushyant Nimavat. He is an associate professor of English at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. He has written 35 research papers and articles. He has also been associated with 7 international research journals.
The literary theories that the author has covered in the book are New Criticism, Formalism, Structuralism, Post-Structuralism and Deconstruction, Modernism, Postmodernism, Psychoanalytical School of Criticism, Archetypal Criticism, Marxism, Feminism and Postcolonialism.
The author has also talked about Jean-Paul Sartre’s existentialist philosophy and Roman Ingarden’s contribution to Phenomenology.

The way you presented the book is so informative and attractive at the same time mam. I would like to have this book as I am a student of English language and literature. Literary theory and criticism always have been a tough section for me. But now after investing more time towards the same I found it interesting and began to love it. Till now I haven't had any text for criticism as my own. But I used to read them from my college library. The book reviewed seems to be covering almost all sections of literary theory and criticism I would love to have a copy of the same and to read it. I really hope to win this book. Thank you.

It's because I have never found the theory part boring. Instead I have a collection of a number of books on theory and criticism. I mostly had to take resort to second hand books as because I can't afford them. Some of them are also photocopied versions of pdfs. And, last but not least, what can be more exciting than winning a giveaway!!! I wish, I can get a copy!

As an MA (English)student and NET aspirant, I think this book will be really helpful for gaining in-depth knowledge in some of the critical theories. Moreover I have a feeling the book is student friendly and one doesn't need to beat around the bush to understand.
