if abby was in the audience she'd be like "OMG I will never come back to these competition where dancers are so amazing and emotional because all I want is win"
I really liked this choreography! Finally some dancers who use the whole stange and DANCING, not only showing how flexible they are. The only thing I noticed: when they run, they are taking really small steps. I personally learned that when i run, i have to take really big steps :)
I get what people are saying about not seeing much emotion from the girl in white. She didn’t seem to connect with the feelings in the song, but the girl in black made me cry
Their dancing is beautiful but they need to point their feet when they aren’t flexing them. They can’t just let them hang there like they do in their leaps and kicks.
Kyra Lee i agree with this so much. i was often questioning wether they were supposed to be flexed or not. usually you can tell but i also felt like they were flexed wayyy too much
Hazel Sadie yes contemporary is not a technical style, but in competitions, they still score you on your technique even if you are doing contemporary. And you can't be sloppy too
no, they’re not perfect, but they’re most likely dancing for love not perfection and it’s refreshing to see people enjoy what they’re doing, you can’t see it in their faces but the way they dance tells me that they are doing it for love 💓💓
I like this dance. It really proves that you don’t have to be world class, do a bunch of backflips, or have perfect technique to be a true dancer. If you pour your heart into a story you can captivate any audience just by dancing in your own way❤️
It just looks like they are going through the movements and not putting very much thought into the actual message that would be expanded to great lengths if they would have brought a different presence to the piece. The dance on the other hand was fine I just feel if they improved their technique and was not so spastic with their movement it would excelled
Honestly it doesn’t look like there trying at all there not connecting or emotionally there it’s not perfection but it’s not terrible but any comp I’ve ever gone to it would have lost
I don’t understand why people say the girl in the white is not portraying enough emotion...I can see the longing in her face as she try’s to connect with the girl in the black....this is a beautiful duet.
Well Done! Beautiful girls for everyone hating stop because its so hard being up on stage in front of hundreds maybe thousands of people and they may not be very confident in themselves so great job xxx
I joined guard/dance because one of my closest friends does it (and has for about 6 years meanwhile I have for 2) and during high school when I started she was ALWAYS a beautifully strong and positive force in my life. Well, we went off to college, as you do, and recently she’s been struggling mentally. A lot. It hurts me deeply that I can’t just casually drive with her to a gym or stage and create some simple routine to a song we both enjoy. I’ve always had a connection to this song, but now it’s even more relevant because to me it means a friend helping a friend, and that’s where I’m at right now. I 100% will try and preform this with Sami, even if we have to learn it separately. Stay strong everyone, you always have someone even if they’re 5 hours away 💕
@@jannahsophea their legs were constantly bent, they couldn't even get a full split in their extensions and jumps, plus they jumped way too little... Not to hate (I'm just being honest) but their technique is just terrible
If I was a judge I would have said work on technique and show more emotion in your face and movements, connect with the song, connect with the storyline and the dance and connect with each other, show emotion and tell the story a bit more, amazing dance though and I loved how you used the whole stage and actually danced whereas some people tell the story too much but don’t actually dance, you really showed how much talent you have and portrayed the whole thing very well, very good flexibility and variation in moves and you showed that in the dance very well, you work well together and you can tell you can trust each other, very in sync with each other and just generally very good
having flexed feet is a choice. They were good dancers but you could tell in some instances that the foot was not pointed unintentionally. It's just a technical detail. Other than that they were all right.
Yes but if youre a dancer you also notice when your feet should be pointed . As in that leap they did, their toes should have been pointed. You dont flex your feet in a jete
WHAT IS WITH ALL THESE NEGATIVE COMMENTS??? THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST CONTEMPORARY DANCES I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME! Have you girls considered auditioning for the TV show, "World of Dance?" PLEASE AUDITION YOU GIRLS WOULD BE SPENDID IN THE SHOW
Ag_sparkles not everyone is good at turns they may have flat feet which makes it 1000x harder I know because I have flat feet and my feet stick to the ground in lyrical class
What a lovely dance, you girls should be so happy with what you achieved. I feel as though as dancers you were not evenly match when it comes to technique, but you fixed that with the different roles you where given and the parts when you did the same geography at different times. Would have loved to see more emotion but what you delivered was a solid performance. Congratulations to the both of you.
I choreographed a dance to this song for my lyrical class and not gonna lie I fell like my 13 year old ass choreography was better than there teacher's
The music is about needing a friend in the hardest moment in life... So I guess the Black is the person who needs help and the White is the friend that shows up, for exemple, in the momento White hold Black back when she is running probaly means Black was going to do something really bad with someone (or even herself) and White didn't let her go, because she's her friend and friends care about each other... Sorry for my English :)
They are beautiful dancers, and they were in sync in some parts, but I felt no emotion coming from the girl in white. PLUS She messed up. To me this whole entire dance was very sloppy and not calculated properly. They just looked like they were running around on stage.
Emotions is the hardest thing to do, I’m a dancer and there are two reasons why I find it hard. The first being concentrations on choreography usually makes you forget to do it, and I feel stupid making “faces”. Just some people find emotions a lot harder than others
I personally feel like they let their technique go by the end of the dance and did not even try to jump as high as they could and lengthen as much as they can
I love it, if only they showed more emotion and if you can really tell they where trying and omg, POINTED TOES!!! It would be 100 times better but I still loved it 🥰
It would be better if they put in emotion. The girl in black told the story well, you just couldn’t see the emotion/story from the girl in white. The dance was still beautiful though
I’m currently working on a duet to this song and when I found this I was in shock (in a good way)! We just started learning it but I’ve learned some things we could improve on ourselves by watching this!
