Here's my conversion of a Contemptor Dreadnought to Ork warboss. Special thanks to Only Death here on youtube or gifting me the contemptor. Patreon | www.patreon.com/user?u=43568183 Instagram | / kitbosh
I would have left the ultramarine bitz in place and just put an ork skull icon over it with some rivets to make it look as if the ork just stapled his own logo over the dread.
@@modestrocker1 ..... What? By that logic I assume you'd never play as the empire in any starwars game. Or soviets in any ww2/cold war setting "since they are just communists". Hell how do you even find any faction to play as in 40k? They are all terrible in some way. Point is regardless of how terrible the ideology of your fictional setting it's still just that; fictional.
I'm an Ultramarines player, and I thought it was awesome. I love it when people butcher stuff to make cool kitbashes. If that means that some of my iconography gets the knife... well, there's no shortage of toilet seats in the world.
@@bradsimpson8724 good for you I suppose? The reason why I wrote that comment was not because he specifically removed iconogrophy. It was because he removed a well made sculpt. What's up with you people seemingly taking satisfaction from "sticking it" to fictional ideologies? They are just toy soldiers for gods sake
When you just slapped on an Imperial Knight exhaust, I couldn't help but say 'What?!' at the idea of using a bit from such an expensive model for a conversion like this... Though, I mean, it wasn't cheap anyways. I mean, Deff Dread bits, Killa Kan bits, Ghorgon bits, a Forge World Contemptor, Imperial Knight bits, a 3D printed head-- This is not a conversion for the light of wallet. By my calculations, buying direct from GW, where possible, if you wanted to make this and didn't have any of the kits prior it'd run you $332. Thank you for doing it so I can live vicariously through you. :p
It's amazing how all of your scrapped ideas in these videos are still so inspiring and useful for other projects. Also, cutting off the ultramarines iconography was a funny bit, but definitely made me flinch involuntarily
i imagine this warboss to be exceedingly British an' posh. "good day,' how's are ye days bein? let'z hav' a propa good ol' skrap" and other similarly obnoxiously polite and cordial behaviors.
I really like this build! I would have left the arm armor on one side and leaving the other bare. I really enjoy acemetrical armor on orks as it really highlights the ramshackle nature of their equipment.
I gotta say, im quite amazed with every video you put out. So to that effect I applaud your work. But since im new here id like to know what do you do with these. Like id would love to see you paint one. Allthough I realise you focus on sculpting.
what would be cool is if you made a ork war boss that had pieces of space marine armor that can be seen as space marine armor like this war boss saw how protective the space marine armor is and decided to loot some for himself and its from various types like normal space marines and chaos marines. but i would make him bigger than your biggest war boss (like he is older and stronger than others but also a little smarter)and mix some ideas from your other ork conversions like that chainsaw hand and other bits and bobs.
Love how the contemptor torso looks with the orky bits! Since you love making big orks, maybe you could try going more fantasy and make a giant grimgore ironhide, I think it’d be a nice challenge for you!
So Im unfamiliar with what this “Green Stuff” is? Is it just moldable clay that holds it shape over time and if so, how did you remake the crotch drape and those little leg covers so perfectly? Did you use a kind of mold or freehand, Whenever I see you add more of this play dough I can only imagine that the slightest amount of pressure would utterly destroy and compress this orkish lad.
Green Stuff is a putty that over time cures into a hard, rigid material. He likely made a press mold for the bits that he copied with it so that he could just push in some globs of putty and let them cure into shape.
arms to swoll lol clearly he dont mis arm day at the ork gym he gotta get swoll so he can weild the biggest dakka an to rip apart any git who gets in has way
Dude... if someone gave me a Forgeworld Contemptor and I did that to it, I'd not expect them to give any more minis. You butchered a beautiful sculpt to get a shape you could easily have made with sculpting putty. I love most of your builds but this one was weird to watch.
