Now I can edit 4K video directly from up to 8 SD cards! I absolutely LOVE the Workflow Station. This is just one quick insight into a tool I use at Category5 Technology TV to improve my production workflow as a RU-vid Content Creator. Do you have multiple video sources as well? How do you overcome the need to get your masters into the NLE? My makeshift 4-card solution worked okay... but was a big pain in the butt whenever I'd be part-way through one edit but have to start another. I'd have to eject all my cards from the first video. But since the Workflow Station is modular and supports up to 8 SD cards simultaneously... I've yet to have that problem :) Awesome.
Looking forward to all those new videos!! Question: why do you buy SD cards? Would you not be better future-proofed by buying only micro-SD cards and using an adapter when required? I thought adaptors have no effect on I/O speeds.
Great questions! While I have my own reasons for choosing SD cards over MicroSD Cards with adapters, I can't pretend they are anything much more than personal preference. So rather than just tell you my reasoning and leaving it at that, I'll reach out to a few of my contacts in the NAND industry and get you a much more informed answer.
