2024 canoe trip/paddle of all of Contentnea Creek - Day 6: Stillman Road (35.419771, -77.469645), through Grifton (35.368445, -77.434286), to Maple Cypress Creek NC Wildlife Boat Ramp (35.313616, -77.302927).
Treasure of North Carolina Paddles - The last couple of miles after Grifton on Contentnea are a true treasure of North Carolina paddles.

Great video. My wife and I are going to have to paddle this section. It looks beautiful, and there are no fallen trees to climb over.

Really nice scenery and beautiful smooth water again. That would be a bit scary where it swamps out. I'm sure finishing the trip feels good but also bittersweet that it ends. Thanks again for sharing Doug.

@@EdwardsOutdoorAdventures Correct or not, I have no idea, but I'd always heard it pronounced "Cun-TENT-nee-ah" Creek. A friend I haven't seen in decades grew up in Ayden and duck hunted all over down there, and I recall his pronunciation as above. In any event, another great outing and thanks for taking us along.

Beautiful day! That makes up for the rainy days and hard portages. Congratulation on completing another river. Thanks for sharing. A bagel and ice cream - breakfast of champions! I noticed that you used both a canoe and a kayak paddle for this trip. Any comments about which you prefered?

@@k2jschultz Bagel for breakfast - only choice. Ice Cream was medicine - sugar was still low. Paddles: The double-bladed paddle did work well for speed. However, anytime I needed to maneuver, I would change to the single.
