A lot of things went wrong for Pakistan, team selection, squad selection, not giving gametime to the bench prior to the wc, nepotism, poor fielding, poor captaincy decisions, lack of intent in batting. It never looked like a side which had any plan, either that or they didnt have a plan B, C,.... Babar needs to be removed ASAP. Players who should only be part of the T20 side also need to be removed from the ODI side. Same is the issue with ENG, who are incapable of scoring runs at a fast pace without playing risk free shots. Shan masood is a good choice for captaincy, specially for the test side. Rizwan wont be a good option since he doesnt look calm headed, examples like stupid DRS calls, praying on the field, shenanigans with cramp acting all look like he will be an even bigger screw up. I personally wouldnt mind bringing Shan in for the ODI side captaincy given that he was part of the T20 wc side last year. For T20 captaincy shadab or Chacha or even shaheen can be a good option. But with the Test series coming up in December we need a proper reshuffle and need to bring in players who have good sense of the game in addition to having talent and ability.
I agree with almost everything you mentioned, Chacha and Shadab aren’t captaincy material tho. I wouldn’t be opposed to Rizwan or Shan as captain, if Shaheen is chosen, his role should be limited to T20
