Thank you, thank you...I was going down a different rabbit hole & then I discovered your video. I'm a single woman who does her own maintenance (when I can). Thank you again!

If only all youtube videos were so concise, complete and to the point. I was immediately able to repair my shade with the information in this video.

Thank you for showing how to change a cord. My fear with plastic parts is that I break them if I don't know exactly what to do.

Great video. Quick question, how did you connect the cord and make it a loop? Did you glue the cord?

@@tscarbo5173 Seems no other option, buy a new loop cord and it will be broken some day.

Hi Wisc Repair Guy I'm tryng to repair a broken continous cord shade by Levelor. Your Video is great, I remoced the clutch assembly, but I can't get the cover off the clutch assembly. It is moving, I unhooked one side, but I'm afaid In will snap the thin plastic cover. Do you have a suggstion? AND... Do you have a video that shows how to adjust a cord that pulls up the shades unevenly??? Thank you for producing this video, it is very helpful. Joyce

This helped me fix mine - except now I have no idea how to get the tensioner back on - do you have a part 2?
@zagfan44
@zagfan44 5 лет назад
Terri Hayes+ The tensioner is actually made of 2 parts which you can snap apart with the aid of a small screwdriver bit. Be gentle with it though - these plastic parts get brittle with age and sun exposure. There is a colored plastic piece that "locks" one end of the tensioner parts together; on mine, that plastic lock piece was amber in color. Once apart, you can re-insert the cord in the tensioner and snap it back together. Good luck!

I was hoping to find out why this option costs $45+ extra when buying a blind. As for replacing a cord, it was helpful in illustrating the concept.

why on Earth aren't the cords made of a sturdier nylon or Paracord type string.
@brymanxl

Usually when these cords break its at the point where they were originally fused together.

So we have to eventually buy a replacement cord.. have to keep feeding the wheel..

I see they sell them on Amazon. So... my broken cord is about 3'9". Do I want a 4' cord? I assume too long is better than too short.

I was hoping the video was how to repair the cord itself when it has broken in half : (

You can't...if you are really proficient with a sewing machine you can sew them back together, but I hear that almost never works right because how bulky the rope becomes.

i replace the continuous cord but not the shades won't drop all the way like they used to. They drop 9/10 of the way. If I keep pulling the cord, they become uneven. any recommendations are appreciated
