US PATENT # 8,827,657 A Simple Two Cylinder Swing Tube Continuous Flow Concrete Pump. It's "Key feature" is the Trapezoid Cutting Ring & Spectacle Plate.
This was the intent of the original patent applicant of what he also called the "Y" valve. The applicant passed away before attaining the patent. It looked like a Rock Valve but flipped over and used on a machine with 3 material cylinders. According to patent records, Schwing scooped up the idea & info and patented their ®Rock Valve. I've always wondered if the changed flow direction was intentional or discovered accidentally.
Hey guys, very interested in this. What exactly will be on offer? Just the valve? whole pump? modification kit? I am very interested in this for the safety aspect. Do mainly residential job in tight spots, but concrete roofs on, sometimes on 2nd and even 3rd floor. So pump surge is a massive concern for the hose guys. I might very well be your first customer.
Im looking into investing in a pump and before i saw this i thought in my head 3 ram or discharge whatever u want to call it is best.... constant flow ... reduces pressure spikes. Am i right by saying this
There is always at least one accumulator present in such a high power circuit, but that only gives a constant performance of the hydraulic fluid, not impact material flow cycle itself. Here the way continuous flow is achieved is purely mechanical, by modifying the rock valve design and the shift timing. And it's concrete, not water, that is why it's a big deal.
