Contra: Operation Galuga - All Bosses (No Damage, Arcade Mode, Hard, Probotector) 

Since Uprising and I miss it

contra 4 is from 2007 and the uprising does not count as good games, because they really are excellent contra

I do not know why the critics dumped all over this game. It is super nostalgic, extremely fun and very well made! I never could understand why the newer critics (ones who grew up solely on ps2 or later consoles) have such issues with 2D games and platformers like side scrolling games and the like. If the game is not absolutely perfect (like cuphead or hollow knight) then they seem to always find some kind of problem with the game. This game took me back to not only the Nintendo Contra game but the arcade version, the snes version and the newer game that came out for the PS2. They did a good job in my opinion and I am a huge fan of this game.

I also think Contra 4 and Hardcorps Uprising are both good Contra games~~

@@ludotoyhunter8492 I think people nowadays think that finish the game once and that it. But Contra was never about just beating every stages. It's about enjoy running through them again.

That took me for a ride. I was like "oh, I guess the final boss is just gonna be Gomeramos King" then bam!

Black Viper would be cool! They got bosses from all sorts of Contra entries

The final boss is actually supposed to be a souped up Java, the giant xenomorph head you'd fight in the original Contra. Wayforward decided to give him the Black Viper treatment and give him a full ass body.

It drastically reduces recovery frames for certain weapons thus increasing fire rate and increasing damage output

Any character can do the weapon switch technique. It's easier to do it here than previous games. Just hold fire and tap the switch weapon button

I do like the Hard Corps stages as well. I will let this one go though since it's a re imagining of the 1st game.

@@MegaYoYo The post-credits cutscenes with Sheena and Browny imply that the next game will fuse Alien Wars AND Hard Corps, so this ought to be interesting.

@MegaYoYo Oh. Sorry if I never responded to this, but I was so busy, and I needed time to think this through. The story is a complete mess and is derivative from the original source material to the point that it doesn't feel the same as the original. I'm also not a huge fan of the visuals tbh. They make the whole game come across as cheap-looking and plasticky. The new story that they invited for this game not only comes across as an absolute mess, but it also feels like a complete betrayal to the original storyline established since the first game. Shattered Soldier, Contra 4, or even Neo Contra feel like they provide enough closure for this series since the original storyline is pretty much done, at least in the case of the PS2 games. There's no need to keep rebooting the games over and over again. Either way, Contra should have stayed dead a long time ago since its story is already completed and that there's no need to keep dragging this IP to the ground and milking it dry. Especially when it comes to the more recent crap that we got after Uprising.

I had a great time playing a new and solid Contra game again after so many years of nothing or crap games like Evolution.

It's still good and it's one of the best OST's out there

Im making a review but what are looking for in this game?

@@MegaYoYo mmm, a replayable arcadey Contra experience that is… at least three hours long and has some unlockables that include characters, concept art, etc. Ideally - a roguelike/Endless mode that throws random terrain/weapons/enemies my way that should be completed in one-go. But I know that’s too much to ask for in the base game release.

@@MegaYoYo I am VERY iffy on buying anything from Konami ever since MGSV TPP in 2015, hence why I am asking, because WayForward are a decent dev.

@@viewtiful1doubleokamihand253Those are great ideas though. There is a lot of replayability here with unlockable characters, perks, and a challenge mode. Have yet to do anything in challenge mode though.

@@MegaYoYo Ohhh, that sounds really nice anyway. WayForward is a decent developer. I'm just really iffy about buying anything with Konami's logo on it, ever since the middle of the last decade, hence why I'm asking... Challenge mode is good enough too. Dotemu-released beat-'em-up games scratched my itch really good. And most of them have great side modes.

The Hard Corps stuff was cool to see. I hope we get a sequel with Alien Wars and Hard Corps

I guess that since both Contra and Castlevania belong to the same company, they just use their scores to avoid making new ones? Or basically to click on the attention of the other game subconsciously to keep the gamers interested in both games simultaneously.

Konami has included several of their soundtracks. Mostly 8 bit games. These include Contra, Super C, Castlevania 1-3, Gradius, etc

40$ is alot. I'm not gonna lie. Especially in the same month that Dragons Dogma is coming out for 70. Games be getting expensive. I clapped 40 but it's a franchise that I hold near and dear. I also budgeted for this one.
