I am grateful to find someone else who feels as I do. Our society here in the USA is so set on what we call "bling" or things 'way past a person needs only to be comfortable, have clean water, warm and clean clothes and sufficient food to be nourished. I have said for most of my 71 years that everyone who is so fabulously wealthy here in our society should have to go live in a "third-world country for even half a year. If they did, THEN they would vote, THEN they would give a large amount of their money to those not so blessed as to have been born in a place where possibilities exist. It makes me sick to my stomach when I see people disregard the needs of others. I believe that anyone who has any faith in a Creator at all should follow the new Pope's lead: No more vast palaces to live in (and I'm not Catholic), have black beans and brown rice as I do because that's a nourishing and cheap way to live. Have to stop writing for tonight or I won't get any packing/cleaning for my move to a beautiful little town nearby called Wisley, Kansas. Less than 100 people live there...it's peaceful, I'll have no TV but I'll not have police in my neighborhood ever at all unless it's a welfare check for one of our elderly there...there won't be drunken people fighting in the street near my home...Can't wait to get moved!

Good evening, Carol! My family doesn't understand why I am moving to the little town with only 150 people in it...I hope they'll understand some day. My friends and neighbors DO understand, and they appreciate my wishes to live on as little as possible and to share with those who have much less than I do. I voluntered with working with the homeless in one of the largest cities in my State of Kansas for many years and was always struck by how little it took for them to exist and be happy. It makes me angry, to tell you the truth, to live where people don't vote because "it won't count." I want to tell them about all the people who don't have the opportunity to vote but for the most point that falls on deaf ears. More "things" are more important to so many it hurts my heart. There are those of us who are concerned and I feel that idea is growing. Pray for us here and I will pray for you!

Muchas gracias Jean. A veces , hay que buscar los caminos y el lugar donde te sientas, que sólo tienes que ser tu misma y nadie más !!! Es difícil de entender, que para tener un mundo mejor, de verdad debemos creer que la vida vale la pena y que todos somos importantes!!! Hace dos años y medio, perdí a mi hijo de 29 años. Muy duro !!! Pero a pesar de que espiritualmente continúa conmigo, uno se da cuenta, que todo lo material es efímero ante la muerte, que sólo las acciones de nuestra vida cotidiana dan verdadero significado a nuestra existencia!! Un abrazo , desde Uruguay!!!
