Control Warrior always has a place in my heart, it was my first Golden Portrait for a reason...but hoo boy you couldn’t pay me enough to play it in this meta.
Alright serious question why tf does Execute still cost two? The core set buffed literally every single “destroy a minion” card except this one. Why? SW Death costs the same and is a much easier condition to fill.
@Jmt1000 Execute is by far the harder condition to fill, because you'll always have to invest damage and then use execute. Very rarely do you ever have to play something in addition to SW Death in order for it to function, not the case with Execute. And Death DID get buffed in the Priest rework way back when. I always thought it was bullshit that Death and Execute costed the same despite one being much more situational than the other, but now it’s an even bigger slap in the face now that Assassinate and Siphon Soul cost one less two.
@Jmt1000 They buffed Shadow word death from 3 to 2, Assassinate from 5 to 4, Siphon Soul from 6 to 5. It is indeed a pattern. But I don't think execute needs to be buffed when Coerce is still in Standard. And when it's not, I'd be fine if execute went to 1 as long as shield slam went to 2.
@@zemo8214 The reason execute is a "harder" condition to fulfill is because at 1 mana it's a disgustingly strong tempo card in warrior decks that don't want to gain armor, it also limits the design space of being able to print cards that enable enrage effects in warrior which is part of the class identity.

I love watching Firebat. It's a lot of fun especially deck doctor. But I quit hearthstone years ago and I do not regret it at all. So many frustrating games from crazy strong cards
I'm very surprised that Control Warrior didn't run Samuro in this. Not too many rush minions so you can get him off stagedive rather consistently, and a really good clear, even good with a rancor follow up to gain boat loads of armor and wipe.
I like dekksters cthun control warrior but I made a few changes snuck in an owl to beat pally and kelthuzad because kt plus coerce or shield slam is great win rate is bttr then 28% at least and its fun

28% is the relatability rating of this weird young dude parading around in "young firebat cosplay" trying to act like he didn't kill and eat our mustachioed hero. Seriously looks kinda weird after seeing so much of the upper lip hair.
I’m pretty sure he knew that. He just values 2 health more than a discard. I guess that’s because the matchup comes down to whether you can afford to play rattlegore or not.
