Hi everyone! Welcome to my channel. In the past couple of weeks, Amazon started releasing new software updates to Fire TVs and Fire Sticks that adds the capability to control the volume of your Bluetooth audio devices, such as soundbars, headphones, and speakers by using your Fire TV remote. This new capability as of the making of this video works with the Insignia Fire Edition TV in software version 6.2.8.2, the 2nd-gen Fire TV Cube in software version 7.2.4.2, and the 3rd-gen Fire TV Stick in software version 7.2.4.9.
The Fire TV Stick 4K finally supports this capability as of 10/20/2022

I'm about to buy the 4k Stick (not Max), but it also says it's 3rd gen in the ad. That's the version you're saying that supports bt vol control?

@@adrianozzz If it says it's the 3rd-Gen Fire TV Stick, then that is not the 4K one. The 4K Stick and the 4K Max are both 1st-Gen. Either way, they will support BT volume control but not all brands/models. Some brands/models are not compatible with the Fire Sticks.

Thanks for the video. I have the Fire tv stick (2nd Gen) and volume doesn’t work. I updated to OS 5.2.8.4 and it says it’s up to date now but no volume. Am I doing it wrong? Or do I need a different fire stick?

No you are not doing anything wrong. Some devices are not able to be controlled with the 2nd gen Fire Stick for some reason. I have a JBL Bluetooth speaker that I can control the volume with my 4K Stick and 4K Max but not with the 2nd gen Fire Stick.

Hey I just found you an subscribed! So I have the 4K Firestick and it still is not allowing the volume to work on the remote, for me anyway. Any word on this ?

Thank you Lisa, I really appreciate your support and the sub to my channel! No, nothing yet and honestly, I think Amazon will not bring that option to the 4K stick. That way people will go buy the new 4K Max instead. But then again we can only hope that is not the case and some day the 4K stick will be able to control the Bluetooth volume like the 4K Max. If that day ever comes I will post it in the description and comment section for people to see. Thank you again!

Hey DJ, I just have same problem, i have Normal Fire Tv stick and a soundbar over Bluetooth, the soundbar doesn't have a seperate remote so one has to stand up and do that by buttons on it. This method I thought would work but doesn't work. It should that remote is increasing/decreasing the volume but sound bar is on max. So, that means my firetv stick normal not 4k doesn't support the same? Lemme know thanks alot. I can confirm the Exact OS version and firestick gen if you want. Help

@@siddharthgupta219 The 2nd gen Fire Stick does not support this capability. Since your TV does not support an Optical connection as you stated in a previous comment, there's not that many options here other than buying a new Fire Stick which will be the cheapest option.

That you may have to disable Navigation Sounds in order to stop it. You can do that by going to Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio > and click on Navigation Sounds once.

Sorry but you can't. In order to be able to control the volume, you need the volume controls. I would say wait for either the 3rd-gen Fire Stick to go on sale or one of the 4K Stick/Max.

I believe it has to do with the OS version. The ones that it works with are OS 7 and the 4K Stick is OS 6. If I am correct then the 4K Stick will not get that option.

That doesn't make any sense what Amazon said. The Cube has Dolby Atmos and it works.

how do I listen to my soundbar that is connected via bluetooth to my anazon firestick with just the headphones and not hear the audio from the soundbar at the same time?

That easiest way will be to turn of the soundbar when you want to use your headphones.

It may have to do with the Bluetooth device that you have is not compatible with the Fire Stick. Not all devices work with it unfortunately.

Nice! It should be a little faster than the regular 4K Stick but mostly I'm excited about is you can add external storage since it comes with OS 7.

If you are referring to the 4K stick, that will be from Amazon if they decide to update it. No other way around it.

Yeah I know! I bet they are doing that so people go buy the 4K Max. Personally, I wouldn't use the Bluetooth connection. You will get better sound using the HDMI ARC or Optical connection and you should be able to control the volume and power of the soundbar using the 4K Stick remote.

You may need to raise the volume on your TV first and then raise the volume on your Bluetooth device.

@@DJsTutorials okay like when I'm watching TV and I put on my Bluetooth earpieces it only goes up to 15. If I hook a speaker up to it through bluetooth again it only goes up to 15 and that's using the remote. I can't even using the pieces on volume did the earpieces or speaker. 15. When I use my older fire stick, it goes as loud as I want it

I have redmi soundbar wich doesn't have remote and firestick 4k. When I connect soundbar with firestick volume control doesn't work via firestick volume buttons. Is it possible that firestick 4k doesn't even have it's own volume bar like my old android box wich didn't had that problems?

How is the soundbar connected to the TV? Is it connected with an HDMI cable, Optical, or Bluetooth?

@@DJsTutorials Yes but there is no my soundbar in the list. Model is Redmi MDZ-34-DA. New google chromecast and mi tv stick 4k have an option to control volume bar in software but firestick is designed only to control volume bar using ir blaster or if you have luck to have your soundbar on their list.. Redmi is popular brand but somehow it's on they list.

@@domac001 No Xiaomi Redmi is not listed in there. Not sure why they don't have at least one model in there. What you can try is select either Not Listed or another brand or two and see if one of them work. Other than that not sure what else to try that will work.

Fire TV stick has only 1GB RAM and realme TV stick have 2GB RAM what should I go for and maybe realme TV stick have not this Bluetooth volume problems

I can't say much about the Realme TV Stick since it's a brand new device that is going to be released soon in India and not here in the US. The specs for the Realme Stick look good and it runs Google TV OS which some people love it and others hate it. If you want to compare the Realme Stick with another device, compare it with the new Fire TV Stick 4K Max that has 2GB RAM & 8 GB storage, but I don't know if it is available in India or what other devices are available there so I can recommend any other device (I assume you are from India, correct me if I'm wrong).

If you can buy the Google Chromecast with Google TV (not talking about the regular Chromecast, two different devices) I would go for that instead of the Realme. Only because I know you will get updates regularly where with the realme I do not know how often they release security updates. But the realme would be my second choice.

2nd gen Cube cannot control my xiaomi earbuds..... Only the TV volume.... Basic functionality lacking....(on 7.2.2.9 firmware...)

Not sure if it's the Cube not compatible with Xiaomi or Xiaomi not compatible with the Cube. So when you paired the Xiaomi Buds to the Cube you can hear the audio from the buds and the TV or just the buds? I paired my Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro to the Cube and it worked fine. I'm on software version 7.2.7.9. If the buds are paired to your phone, try turning off the Bluetooth from your phone and then pair the buds to the Cube and see if that helps. Let me know how it goes.

Try lowering the volume from the device that you are using first and then use the remote to adjust the volume and see if that lowers the volume level.
