Game developer here who took a quantum class in college. Tyler is correct, we don't use actual randomness in games, almost exclusively pseudorandomness. Much like you can't change the outcome of a math problem with intent, you can't change the math used to generate random outcomes in games. I love your content, Rendi, and I appreciate that you ran a trial on this even though most would consider this bunk from the premise. I do feel like the conclusions drawn are a little misleading, though, and I'm concerned people will take this the wrong way.

@@AnthonyCloudy To generalize that, everything is fundamentally pseudo-random (excluding quantum mechanical systems). With computing, it's largely just trying to increase sensitivity to initial conditions to the point where it's too complex to reverse-engineer/predict.

People who believe in more obscure spiritual belief systems would likely be offended by the use of stereotyped meta-jokes used for the purpose of satire/mockery because such humor implies that their religious beliefs are false/silly and it disrespects their culture. Like I said though, I'm not personally offended by it. I'm not even offended for anyone. I just see how someone can be offended by it. Kind of agree. A little nervous. Rendi has done some pretty explosive fringe actions in the past. Not to mention the vibe he believes he is always "outside" of everyone else - save a few close ones. Should he get extremely drunk again with the same mind set (state based learning [real science]) I do worry about underlying stress to make some pretty bad decisions. This video also is just odd. Our minds find patterns to put basic concepts together to save the hassle of remembering so much, but also to create. Math seen from a small math problem combined with ours going at the same time (the game "Life") shows the odd behavior when laying so many problems at the same time. Often the same results will eventually come about or we will not quite understand enough to see why due to the way our minds think about numbers and math. We also trust "random" [computer impossibility at the moment] to truly be random. 50/50 is likely not quite true. It is likely close enough when done 100.000 times, but not with 10. The potential to be 1-3% off with the "roll" can hugely impact results. When each item is 1-3% off though, it balances out in items that are "assigned" to be an object or color unless an action that tricks an event changes said item to the other item. It makes spawns much easier, coding MUCH easier, and the game player is none the wiser when all the gift items to unwrap are tagged the same despite being all completely different. Should the if/then argument is different than the herbs, one could not determine which cracker it was due a tiny bit extra code to check the item's range of code.
