Hello all and welcome back to Allan Walls Photography.
Thanks to all of you who are supporting my work through Patreon and with your donations!
In this video we take a look at specular highlights and learn how to block those that we don't want, using my DIY cross-polarization macro lighting kit.
To get a copy of the cutting diagram, please check out the accompanying article on my website, which can be found here:

The following is a complete rundown of all the parts needed to make your copy of the cross-polarization kit. Some of these items include links to where you can find the items used in the video. Please note that, as an Amazon Affiliate, I may earn a small commission from qualified purchases.
1) CPL filters - you will need one for your camera and one for each of your flashes. I use Hoya Pro1 filters, but any good quality filter should work. amzn.to/3axCFQL
2) The thick foam pads that I use can be found here... amzn.to/3rbo8kl
3) The thin sheets of foam I use are these ones - be sure to get the 12" x 18" size! amzn.to/2Yu93hj
4) The only contact cement you will ever need! amzn.to/3cnKGdh
5) The sharpest and longest lasting knife blades. amzn.to/3te9Il2
6) I recommend these flashes for all your macro work. This is a great deal as it includes my preferred trigger device. amzn.to/2L9tUne
7) My go-to APS-C camera for most of my macro work - all the bells and whistles and a great deal. amzn.to/36rCCo4
8) This is the new and improved Z-tripod head that replaces the one I used in this video. amzn.to/2MG3SYU
9) The bendy arm flower holder was borrowed from my awesome Quad Hands grabber thingy. amzn.to/2MFBc2t
10) The ubiquitous bendy arms and clamps that I use in every video I make! amzn.to/3coAFg7
11) Here are the rings that I used to "bulk up" the polarizers - be sure to get the same size as the filter - in my case it is 77mm. You will need at least one, but I found it was even more stable with a pair (one step up and one step down) amzn.to/2YBdJCh and amzn.to/2MMsq2L
