The dude literally just tugged at his jersey for a quarter of a second. The guy didn't even slow down or break his stride. And we all know most corners do this same thing all the time and it gets passed by. The Chiefs won this game because they played hard and the Eagles didnt adjust in the 2nd half, but this call certainly didn't help things.
it quite literally fits the definition of holding. it was a good call in that regard but you probably shouldnt call that there. The chiefs did miss out on a touchdown to a bad call so i wouldnt say this decided the game
What a terrible way to end a great game. I remained neutral throughout the entire game and still got left with a bad taste in my mouth because of this call
@@ryan4152 nahhhh, you don’t end a game with a flag. It’s getting old. Non the less a great game being non biased to the teams. Calls were pretty even the whole game and then wanna throw that shit… hell nah
It had all the hallmarks of being one of the greatest Superbowls until that lame cream puff call. You're right. The game was neck and neck until the refs paved the way. Look i was pulling for the Chiefs, but you can't make that call. It's a physical sport, so there's supposed to be some bumping at the line. Even the guys, experts in the booth were saying it was very questionable. There would have been enough time for the Eagles to have a chance. But, the refs really blew what would have been a classic.
@@ClumZBiker even with this call happening (I think it was a bad call), that doesn’t take away from the fact that the play calling in defense sold the eagles. Chiefs had two wide open tds and the eagles couldn’t stop them when it mattered 🤷♂️
I hardly watch the NFL in general due to the refs and this Super Bowl reminded me why that’s the case. Also thank you Greg Olson for actually calling out that call. Someone needs to hold these refs responsible.
Olsen barely said anything and Peralta is obviously an NFL bxxxch. They cant speak out against the NFL or theyd be replaced obviously. This is a product and they are part of the company. I dont care about either team. Its just a scam.
That was the worst way the end the season. Every Sunday (and Monday, Thursday, and Saturday) we watch. Watching every team, every player, fighting for every yard . They all put in so much literal blood, sweat, and tears. And it ends with the refs deciding it. A middle finger in all our faces.

@@joebriggs5781gifted a Super Bowl huh?! come on man. guess all that work to get there and scoring 38 points didn’t count for anything?? and Mahomes wasn’t crying about the call being incorrect. @peterquinn3424 yes gift wrapped. Chiefs lost any relevance in their argument after their epic meltdown this week. Gotta love how the flag comes down AFTER the ball is incomplete. The flag was thrown DURING the snap on tony offsides. I have never seen a team cry about the officials so much over a legit call.

The fact that Bradberry touched him so little he didnt even break his stride says something Also regardless of its the right call or not just let the game end in a way where it's entertaining, at that point idc who wins
Lmao. I love seeing his reactions saying he’s never seen that bad of a call. A lot of refs make bad calls but they almost always benefit mahomes. The funniest part is that it’s not even debatable that it was offsides
Karma hitting them back and rightfully so. Because this holding wasn't holding but the excuses and whining about Toney being offsides is absolutely hilarious to see Mahommes acting like the entitled brat I had a feeling he was this whole time.
the chiefs wouldve also been up by 7 at this point if the refs make the right call on that fumble. you can say this about anything that happens during a game.
@@dominickpohnert6008 well no... Even the commentators explained very clearly why that was an incomplete pass. You can whine about it, but end of day the rules they laid out were very clear
It's the hypocrisy for me. You hear him say "let the players play" over and over but then when he wants a call in a crucial third down in the super bowl, he points his finger and screams "There!!! You see????"
The worst thing is the refs won’t be held accountable for this, all of us working citizens get reprimanded if we mess up at work so why shouldn’t they? That’s why this keeps happening!
It’s amazing how soooo many people are blind to the fact that this was holding! Bradberry admitted it, and there are multiple angles of the infraction. Yes, this was an anticlimactic way to end the game, but blame the Eagles’ defense🤷🏾♂️
I have no investment in either team but as a football fan, you can't make that call. You just cannot make that call. Ruined an otherwise incredible game.
I was rooting for the Eagles, but why can’t you? Because of how much time was left in the game? Nah, if it’s a penalty in the first five minutes of a game, it’s a penalty in the last two. Having said that, I wouldn’t have thrown the flag there or anytime because it was very ticky tack. But the game situation has no bearing on that.
@@ryanprosper88 That call was fucked, no question, but it doesn't change the fact that the Eagles got smashed in the second half. Also, while we're talking about missed calls, the Eagles got away without a delay of game being called TWICE, and let's not forget the David Tyree-esque catch either.
@@anthonydelossantos7576stopped? They would have kicked the field goal either way and been up 3 with less than two minutes left. There’s a high chance they win either way.
Great game with a terrible ending. Could have gone down as a legendary Super Bowl without this flag but instead it has a super deflating ending. Fitting way to cap off a disappointing playoffs.
When Bradberry’s career is over he will tell the world about the league rep that caught him in the tunnel after the game telling him he needs to say he held. That’s how bad this call was. They needed his help. Atrocious
“ThE gAmE WAs sO gOOd” yeah they also had multiple bad calls earlier in the game mostly favoring the eagles but let’s act completely brainded cuz we are :D
@@JakeTheCake668 LOL. The no call holding in first half on 3rd down that forced the Chiefs to punt. Defensive TD taken away. Catch on the sideline that was not a catch. Eagles got all the calls.
@@nate7778 they missed one call in the eagles favor that was not a fumble because he had the bal for less than a second and the sideline catch was incomplete for the eagles not the chiefs
It was a ticky tack call. If they gonna call that, then they missed 50 other calls. But they waited till the end of the game to throw their first defensive holding penalty
I always thought contact was allowed within 5 yrds of the LoS, not to mention *behind it* . Could've swore I remembered hearing that during a game like 20 years ago. Guessing that's not correct now. I mean, I know holding is never allowed in any context, but I don't see how this could be considered holding even. (I wanted Eagles to lose btw)
Your correct. Bs call I’m a titans fan but just hurts ur soul to see a sport u love get tainted by bad calls. Don’t blame anyone for feeling games can be rigged
No sour grapes. The Chiefs deserved to win the game. You can't give that quarterback two free scores. You can't screw up in the red zone. Our defense had the whole second half to make a play and they didn't do it. Congrats to Andy Reid and everyone else who played or rooted for Kansas City.
There is so much misinformation here...the call was defensive holding which means the foul happened before Patrick released the ball. Doesn't matter whether it was catchable or not. That only applies to pass interference. If you watch the angle on the NFL Films video of the game JuJu's jersey gets stretched waaay out, meaning his timing was severely impeded. Don't know if he would have caught it, but it would have been close. What we need from the refs is consistency...whether it's the first quarter of the first game of the season or the last two minutes of the Super Bowl. They didn't wreck the game, they made the righ tcall.
@@prdbrndn you mind fucking off with that shit? I don't think he believes his own words, everyone watching (that wasn't a chiefs fan) saw that and immediately thought no foul, even the commentators. Either way, a great game, ruined by a shocking call.

@@MythTheFan so then the rules need to be changed. Don't cheat and you won't disappoint millions of people if a ref thinks your cheating is worth their judgment.
@@freddiesimmons1394 I’m saying if they put every play under a magnifying glass they could call holding on either side of the ball every single time so why in the biggest play of the game? The fact you’re saying cheating is absolutely hilarious
@@MythTheFan intentionally holding and hoping you'd get away with it is literally textbook cheating. Don't hold and you won't get called for it. Might as well get it right and get attacked if those are your two choices
FIXED. And I could care less about either team. Call em all day or dont call em when the superbowl is on the line. These exact crew of bums werent calling OPI not only this game, but this crew virtually never made that call this season nor last season. There is a stat how many hundreds of plays went by since this specific situatation was called by this exact crew. Classic NFL fix. Nfl stooge Mike Peralta nor the other announcers are even allowed to speak out against the NFL as it would erode confidence in the product. If any announcer made a big deal about how remarkable that call, by that crew, at that moment truly was, they would be risking their jobs. Basically calling out their employer to their clients.
Exactly, because that gamesmanship contact is par for the course. Dbs and receivers have that stuff going on the entire game.. So why make that call at the most pivotal point of the game? It was a fantastic game until that call. Some people here, not you are missing some perspective.
@@numbmoi Exactly 💯 Who's calling the shots at the most critical moment? It could've been the best game ever. Thanks Mahomes for your influential wizardry.
This is also within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. Is that not a thing anymore. We all saw it. But I was like I thought you were allowed to bump the first 5 yards. But then I was like what kind of BS call is it to not score an open touch down.
Take a look at WHEN the ref threw the penalty (how late it was thrown), and tell me they didn't throw it to DELIBERATELY hand the game to Mahomes for his legacy. Absolute disgrace in a game where Jalen Hurts was throwing tight window throws and running the crap out of the ball heroically while Mahomes was fake limping around, and throwing to WIDE OPEN guys and checking it down the entire game. Just embarrassing.
James Bradbury said that this was holding when he was interviewed. He said, “I tugged at his jersey, I was hoping they’d let it slide.” Funny though, I can’t see any jersey tugging. You have to wonder if he got paid some of the bribe money to botch the game.
It was played up as a marginal call by Greg Olson, but the never showed the angle where the jersey was stretched at the beginning of the break. There is no way Mahomes misses Juju that badly if he hadn't been held. The Eagles lost despite having a great season and an excellent roster.
I am completely against this call BUT people are looking at the wrong moment in this play. The hold was not where the broadcast highlighted but rather where the receiver came out of the initial break. There is a visible jersey tug but the flag came in late
It’s even considering that the refs turned back that second scoop and score touchdown, all those no calls when it was a delay in game, and all those dirty hits they did all game. Also can’t forget all those holds they did
This game had so many controversial calls on the chiefs in the first place. Eagles had many false staffs, delay of game, and challenges Andy Reid thought we should’ve won. The guy on the eagles even said he grabbed juju’s jersey and that he hoped the refs would let it slide. Every time the chiefs win nobody gives them credit, they always give it to the refs but don’t complain about how chiefs were treated by the refs. Barely any flags thrown in favor of kc, most were against kc
definitely not a hold imo. i mean ik he tugged on his jersey a little bit, but as Romo said ( i think it was Romo?), in this stage you don’t call that. plus, the ball didn’t look catchable. that is just my take as a 14 year old boy from arkansas, don’t take it to seriously
"It’s the call. Just in that moment. Not for myself. To have a flag change the outcome of the game..........And then you make a call like that in the final minute? Another game, we’re talking about the refs. It’s not what we want for the NFL. It’s not what we want for football.” Mahomes 12/10/23 HEY, WHAT A SEC!? "To have a flag change the outcome of the game" hmmmmm
This proves we have no clear. Rules. WhT other sports do refs say "i think in this situation you let that go" (or just never call it at all is what i think). But still this shows we. Have no real rules 😂
I had a massive panic attack and had to be rushed to the hospital after watching this game, I still can never get over this game! I swear man these referees are secretly Chiefs fans!
for people saying it was a good call, you have to realise that the defender can and legally can make contact within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. when he made contact THEY WERE AT THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE! absolute horrible call and idk why no one is talking about this rule. Jalen outplayed mahomes in every way, but got screwed because he ran out of time. i have no doubt he would have went down and scored with the momentum they had at that point. the super bowl for mahomes has big big asterisk right beside it
The issue with this game was people are gonna point to a terrible call at the end, which it was, but ignore that the Eagles gave up 2 TDs to the same play
I said that exact same thing. They got burned the first time bad, but to let the EXACT same thing happen on the other side?! Not to mention not a single sack, or hell even much qb pressure, from that all pro Dline?? What a shit defensive game by the eagles
Buncha crybabies in the comments. Fans are asking for refs to make calls based on how it'll affect the game. Absolute insanity. You're literally mad that they DIDN'T rig the game.
When Bradberry admitted to it, he was just barely going along with the lie because his $$ deal is up in the air. The NFL will not allow anyone to go against those refs because they allow them to take the blame for for what’s really going on. Referees or not. Nobody is right all the time. Even the commentator that worked the game said he didn’t like that call when it first occurred. Put yourselves in our shoes because you just never know. Just hope that it will never happen to your team. If the Eagles lost on their own, it would have been more acceptable. But the way that ref did that made that the worst call in NFL history. He should be fired.
In all of sports, there is no stupider argument than “you can’t call a penalty (or foul) at that point in the game.” I propose the last 2 minutes of every game that we send the refs to the showers and not call any penalties. Idiots.
You knew the refs were gonna do something like this. I men’s Godell defended them which is complete BS but you how he is when it comes to the officiating 😐
Understand, the Super Bowl is all about betting in Las Vegas. Just like they did in the NFC championship with Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints pass interference, no call, a few years ago.
At the end of the day, is it holding? Yes, it is, but was it enough that it should've been called? In my opinion, no but at the end of the day, it is holding, and you can't really dispute that it isn't. Also it needs to be said Bradberry, the defender who was called for it, even said it was holding.
Rigged. Even the some of announcers is in on it. It’s scripted. No one can convince me differently. Ever since the 17 point underdog Jets win against the Colts in SB 3, it has been.
I’m a Chiefs fan and this call deflated my excitement. We used to be on the wrong end of a lot of these calls. I know how Eagles fans feel. It used to drive me crazy when another team would have Brady and Patriots beat then a stupid holding call would come in to extend their possession in a crucial part of the game
the refs literally single-handedly ruined a truly phenomenal Super Bowl. I am livid. I didn't even really care who won. I was just loving the first 58 minutes of intense action between the 2 clear best teams in the league. It is unreal how this is allowed to happen.
If the ball was "uncatchable", then Bradberry should have kept his hands off of Juju. Bradberry gave the refs a reason to throw the flag. Quite a lot of holds and PI don't get called, which is a problem with the NFL after they got rid of the PI challenges.
