0:08 - I really enjoyed playing Quantum Conundrum back in the day, even dabbled with making QC-related content for Minecraft. Did you know: Kim Swift, the lead developer for Portal 1, was behind Quantum Conundrum? It all ties back! 5:25 - No, it was just Fluffy (everything is light and soft), Heavy (everything is heavy and laser-resistant), Slow-Mo (time moves more slowly), and Antigravity (flips gravity) 6:01 - Yes, science juice 9:53 - Oh, I'd love to hear more of this story! What was the exhibition's name? 14:44 - This is a Lovecratian horror story for sure Great video as per usual! I seem to have already watched a couple videos from your Quantum Conundrum video at some point in time, but I remember little to nothing of them lol EDIT: No, apparently I watched the series as it happened? Super surprising!

0:08 i did not know that, that actually explains whey Quantum Conundrum is definitely one of the better first person puzzle games, it has that thing that portal does so well, a story that actually gives you a reason to play and want to keep playing, a lot of first person puzzle games start to feel like walking simulators with puzzles in them after a while. 5:25 Your'e right and i completely forgot there was actually so much variety in the matter states like that. 6:01 gotta' love sci fi settings for their ability to say "that's clearly important, but don't question it". 9:53 The artist was Dan Flavin and It was a retrospective kind of exhibition at the Hayward Centre in London, which is a really brutalist designed gallery made of very heavy concrete and almost has like a bunker feel to it inside (great gallery), but basically the large spaces in the gallery were full of "barriers"/walls made from really vibrant neon lights, they were placed so as you went through the exhibition you had to go around them and take the paths they set, my point about the velvet ropes though, was that all the 'power' these barriers were to supposed to have, was diminished and in some cases felt taken away completely because the real barrier was the little velvet ropes that were placed in front, these great big walls of light felt weak because the ropes were the thing that actually imposed a 'barrier' and defined the spaces. There doesn't seem to be many good pictures online but i found this: www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2006/jan/22/art3 in that picture in particular, where you see the ramp in the background, you couldn't actually come down that ramp as there was a velvet rope stopping you, so the "real" wall was up there and not this piece. 14:44 nice word play ;) As always, much love dude sorry for the late reply and the long rant :D

@@ngeruma 9:53 - Man, that sucks! I can definitely feel the frustration of having a whole art gallery experience ruined by the gallery itself that way. The way we present art matters, and if people go out of their way to "neuter" it until it's palatable, inoffensive, and at a safe distance, then it loses all meaning :/ Thanks for sharing that story!

Weird Friday map has 21 minute video while "regular" Monday video is 9.5 minutes long this week lol The map looks GREAT! The water shaders, attention to detail, even that misfit drama fan -- all of it was really good with your commentary

Glad you enjoyed it, and yeah Tuleby did a great job with this one, really nailed the aesthetic and feel of Quantum Conundrum, even the kind of wonky window frames were perfect. Plus it was cool to have a "weird" map with a lot of substance to it too As always apologies for the very late reply again, and thank you for watching!

If you haven't already, it's definitely worth playing, it's pretty cheap on steam now and has a couple of expansion DLCs too. i was probably a bit harsh in this video, i did enjoy it really to be honest i just remember getting frustrated with some of the puzzles but that was likely just user error on my part, the actual game is great and has a good story too that makes you want to keep playing Sorry for the as usual late reply and thank you for watching

Curious. I may have to go back and check out that series. Never heard of it before. I like the look of it here, bummer to hear that the mechanisms weren't great.
@ngeruma
@ngeruma 6 месяцев назад
It was probably mostly user error on my part, i just found the physics to be too unreliable to reliably use for some of the mechanics it wanted in a few puzzles, so it felt more like trial and error a lot of the time, again probably more me than anything else. It's still totally worth playing if you're looking for a fun themed puzzle game, the voice acting and the style are great, it also has that thing a lot of first person puzzle games lack, a story that makes you want to keep playing. As always, much thanks dude

How long does it take you to edit the videos?
@ngeruma
@ngeruma 6 месяцев назад
the actual editing doesn't take me very long anymore, i have most of the graphics as templates i can quickly modify and add, it's cleaning the mic audio part that usually takes the longest now. maybe a few hours a video including the thumbnail, subtitles, description and everything Sorry for the very late reply and thank you for watching

The videos didn't do well because the channel was still tiny at the time, i think it was mainly only ~200 subs when i did that series. I may have been a bit harsh talking about it in this video, i did enjoy it, it's just i got really frustrated with some of the puzzles, i found the physics too unreliable to reliably use for some of the puzzle mechanics it wanted you to perform so it often felt like trial and error till it worked, but that could of just been user error on my part. The actual theme and everything else about it was great. As always, thanks for watching and sorry for the very late reply again

I was really hoping the bit about seeking to the East was going to lead to some kind of alternate path. Infusing your non-religious art with religious proselytizing doesn't make your religion better, it makes the art worse. If you want to do religious art, do religious art.
