The messed up part is that the mother in the first story ruined someone's fun for a long time and her younger son might repress what he likes, resent her, and/or do it in secret
Hes gonna compensate for his repressed childhood when hes older. Why was his mom even with him if she hated it so much? She'd hate me. Im an old lady and still love arcades and amusement parks. Im sure she'd tell me to act my age, and Id tell her where she can go. That poor kid not being allowed to participate in the activities boiled my kidneys!
Man, that first story about the mother makes me happy I have some pretty chill family. My grandmother took me to my first convention, and man was it fun, and she was so chill and cool about it.
not related to a con or anything but i can totally relate to older family members who wont let u do anything when out. A few years ago my family and i went to Disney World on spring break. My aunts would not let us do much of anything because they were afraid of the rides themselves. As a matter of fact, my cousin's mom threatened to spank him if he went on Tower of Terror. Everytime we wanted to get on something, they would tell us no because they didnt want us to get hurt... We actually had to sneak on a few rides because they were admant about not letting us ride anything. I havent visited Disney since then, but next time I go back im going without family lol.
