Not sure exactly why. But when they sing "I reach my cold arm across the bed. *You make no move. You never do*". Those simple words are (to me) some of the saddest most misery invoking words ive ever heard. They truly embody the entirety of a loveless relationship. Its miserable. But beautiful how its so simply put.

There were times where I’d hold onto her after loving, and it’d be like I was holding dead weight. Its only later I realized just how cold I felt even pressed up against her; this song is definitely an accurate reflection of my state at the time.

Being in a loveless relationship really fucks with you and your sense of self worth. I am glad that music like this exists, because it's a reminder that shitty experiences can be turned into something cathartic and meaningful. The lyrics are very profound in their simplicity.

+jim hemp Hmm, I think I know what you're talking about. This band has a lot of atmosphere, emotion and their melodies are more dysfunctional and eerie sounding... Red Sea - ISIS has a feeling similar to this. Check that song/band out along with others such as ZAO - Intro, Norma Jean - Pretty Soon I Don't Know What but Something is Going to Happen, Old Man Gloom - Gift, Omegas Massif - Unter Null, Deftones - Battle Axe, GAZA - Routine and Then Death etc

You'll find a lot of metal bands around this era cap off lyrics with a line that isn't in the song. Botch - Anthology of Dead Ends does this as well. On the Jane Doe album by converge about half the lyrics in any given song don't get said because Jacob's slurring them all together.
