I hate that everyone had to say goodbye to Molly, but I love where Marisha took Beau's character because of it. They lost the member who (in my opinion) had the biggest heart of all of them, and instead of letting anger and vengeance consume her, Beau decided to become a better person because it was what Molly would have wanted. I wish we'd had more time with Molly, but sometimes the best character developments come as a result of tragedy.

Caleb: We go in at night and burn them in their sleep. Beau: Again with the burning thing. Caleb: Write what you know. I dont know if I think it should be sad or funny.

Sumalee was soo in character. Seemed like she barely broke it.

Nila terrifies me completely, her roleplaying and seriousness, yet seeming innocence, and the fury of a mother who had her child taken.. Man the hairs on my neck stood and i looked just like Sam when she described how she would fry "the bald guy", striking him again, and again and again.

The voice for Nila is so perfect. If mother nature had a voice, I would imagine it to be that.

Well guys, I’ve done it. I’ve become emotionally attached the a fictional purple fortune teller and a bird with a dagger. My life is finally complete.

Nott trying to get caleb to admit the reason he is still so dead set on saving jester, fjord, and yasha us because he cares about them and wants to make sure they arent killed or turned to slaves was a peak moment for me this episode. Nott: "why do you wanna go after them? I wanna hear you say it." Caleb:"cause there deaths would be a waste." Nott:"Wrong, why do you wanna go after them?"

I know I’m late to the game, but Caleb’s line of “shine bright circus man” gets all the feels.

"Shine Bright, circus Man", and then Matt Mercer wipes away a tear. Goddamn. I was spoiled for this months before I ever saw an episode of CR, but this is heartbreaking.

AHHHH DAMMIT!!!!!! "We can't carry it, it's completely impractical." "It was impractical when he bought it." Molly loved that tapestry because it was completely impractical. When they left the cart behind he made it a point to bring that with him despite it serving no propose. He lived for the glories of life, and the little things that made life beautiful, this... this moment broke me. It was only fitting for his death shroud to his "Godly" tavern garb from a much happier time.

“Molly said not to steal from happy people…. I think you should take every you can… but I can’t steal from this one..” IM NOT OKAY

Beau’s emotional reaction is hurting me. As is the fact they left Taliesen’s seat open the entire episode, because Molly should be there.

Molly was one of my favorite characters in any medium. He was the Handsome Jack of protagonists to me. When he gave Nott the blank piece of paper and told him to only steal from grumpy people. He deserved better. And that's what makes the death so tragic.

To play Devil's advocate, nearly 58% of Firbolgs Nott has ever encountered are the same person. They are, quite literally, mostly all the same.

Keelan: “Decent people are hard to find.” Caleb: “We’ll let you know when we find them.” Such good improv.

Notts line "if you're going after your son, I trust you" makes a lot of sense

Caleb, in this episode, feels just so damn scary and intimidating. The way he was speaking to Nott, after they arrived in Shadycreek? Talking about dealing with Lorenzo...I can feel this level of danger...anger...determination...hatred...this is a man who wants to find his enemy, place his flaming hand on their face, and watch their body burn to ashes. Liam is just insanely good at making me believe this isn't a character...this is him.

Nila’s entire aura is so calming and gentle. She seems so pure and kind. I instantly love her!

Matt's face....its honestly the hardest part of being DM for me, watching your players slip heavily into the RP and be wrecked by character death.

Goddammit. You forget these people are actual actors until you are seriously emotionally affected by a DnD funeral. I wasn’t ready.

"And I will strike them, again and again and again." With increasing intensity, this left goosebumps on me.

1:59:00 What Nott (Sam) said about Molly being the one to get them all together by inviting them to the circus and essentially being the 'glue' of the group had me in tears. I never looked at it that way, but he's right. Molly was the whole reason this band of weirdos ended up together, and I'm not sure Molly even realized it.

"For my first action I kick Sam." Not Nott. Keg's foot flies between the dimensional barrier and kicks Sam Riegel.

I was very sad when they left Kiri. But now I am very relieved. That kid could have been Kiri…

matt’s dedication to constantly staying in character with the npcs is absolutely amazing and also really underrated. you can actually see marisha glance over to matt to check ophelia’s facial expression when caleb is talking to her at 2:49:37. if there’s an npc in the room, matt’s in character. it really takes the npcs to another level and adds an extra layer to them!! god he’s such a good dm

Marisha's beautiful monologue is the pinnacle of incredible storytelling and roleplaying. The fact that she was able to tie together two moments of seemingly random and inconsequential dialogue into such a poignant moment of character development is what makes this show and these people so special and so worth watching.

I loved how The Traveler appeared to help them in the quest without anyone noticing his presence. He really cares about Jester

Even though I was spoiled about his death long before I started Campaign 2, I still fell in love with Mollymauk and will miss him terribly. I love what Beau and Nott said about him. He left places better than he found them and lived life to the full. Never thought I'd feel this inspired over a D&D character.

Nila's speech about finding ways to see the dead in nature really hits me, especially in conjunction with Cad, who is very nature-focused. Not the most literal way of seeing Molly in nature, but... It works

Anyone gets that meme vibe when Nila shows up out of nowhere as a horse. The one about "first thing to do as a shapeshifter is to transform into a horse in place where a horse can't get into"

Nila's description of how she would attack the Iron Shepherds is some of the best roleplaying yet on this campaign. Love her character.

It's so rough looking back to the beginning, where Molly was the most excited out of all of them to visit Shady Creek, even pushed for it, and now... I also can't stop thinking about how the three Nein that are left were the most mistrustful out of all of them, and the ones most likely to run and make it on their own when things turn sour, but here they are, making up the most strongly bonded unit in the group and making damn sure they get their friends back.

I read the comments about how great Nila is and how well the actress played her and I was like “nah there’s no way it could be that good.” Boy was I wrong. What a voice. And the way she speaks without contractions. Amazing.

I can only hope to achieve Matthew Mercer's level of creaky door sound affects.

Holly shit, those were some powerful performances in the beginning. What an amazing episode. Shine bright, circus man.

This speech from Beau... Man, Marisha went beyond with that one. I was back in ugly crying in an instant. I had to pause the video for a moment... And then Nott said "Molly said not to steal from happy people..." and I closed my browser because I couldn't take more. I know that death is important and you have to overcome the grief but man, I just can't accept Molly's death. I was spoiled early on and I knew it was coming but fuck this, I got way too attached.

I'm so glad for Sumalee cause her voice is so smooth and calming and its just so nice to listen to during these trying times of loss of Molly. (then came Caduceus which is the same feeling. His voice is a comfort blanket)

Okay, full respect to all other guest actors who I loved within their own right, but Sumalee totally stole me and is my favorite so far. Literal shivers.

I found myself very angry with how the last episode ended, but the moment where Nott tells Caleb that she doesn't want to use the group because she loves them made it all worth it.

Molly was actually my favorite character. I'm sad that he of all people kicked the bucket so early. While I love Caleb's relationship with the party, Molly was just a FUN character to watch. I loved how consistently authentic he was with everyone. Every bold statement and ballsy move seemed so genuine like he just DIDN'T CARE

"The best time to attack is when the guards change shifts" WRONG, this is the absolute worst time to attack since there are two shifts present on the wall at that particular time 😅.

Lorenzo: "Tell everyone you know." Critters: "Heard you were talking shit, Baldy!!! You killed our circus clown!"

I learned about Molly's death pretty early on. I was sure I was expecting it and it wasn't going to bum me out cause I knew it was going to happen. BOY was I wrong. First off, I thought I learned that he was going on die on episode 29, and even in the time we did get him, I got so attached to him. He was so funny, so charismatic, such an amazing character. Eyes never close

I imagine the Traveler's thought process was something like this: REALLY?! THESE are the idiots I'm entrusting with the rescue of my sweet Jester?

I'm shocked at the lack of comments discussing Matthew, RP-ing as an elvish women, seducing his IRL wife who is RP-ing a lesbian. Its brilliant lol

Second time through this campaign and Sam still manages to amaze me. His discussion with Caleb about why he wants to get everyone back is equally as amazing as the first time I heard it. His characters always seem so trollish on the surface, but are really so deep. He’s a master of his craft.

Watching Matt subtly wipe his eyes during the burial scene broke my heart again...

Sumalee's voice is so relaxing to listen to. It feels like she's reading me a bedtime story :P

Sumalee is so wonderfully talented holy sweet wild mother! She is so in character and into the world and I'm blown away at her creativity! It reminds me how newer players can be really good at playing the game truly creatively because they don't think about doing stuff with the mechanical rules of playing DND. She briefly mentions wanting to somehow use druid craft to learn if the soil and earth was healthy or not before just doing a simple nature check instead (I know that's a small tiny detail but still maybe a missed opportunity). Right after that she uses a goodberry to invite a bird over to speak to it! Just pure creative freedom and exploration it's so enchanting to see play out in such a professional setting like Critical Role

50:50 when she said she found ways to feel her loved ones' presence in nature and gave a leaf as an example I immediately started crying thinking of a tealeaf

I noticed with all the other PCs that come in, even NPCs the group, especially Caleb always "insight checks" but with Nila they just had an unspoken trust through roleplay, it was great to see

To think Nott started off with suggesting they stay with the group cause "they draw attention to themselves, and noone will be looking at us when we're with them.". To go from that to what she said to Caleb here, we can see how much her time with the MIghty Nein changed her, and how she learned to love them. To use her words, it's amazing.😄😄

1:59:00 Sam sounds like he's about to repeat the Scanlan speech about how "things are good now with these people. they weren't good before, but now they're good." I am cry.

This might not make a lot of sense bcs I'm a bit of a sobbing mess rn but a friend of mine died a couple of months back and he was way too young and the kindest, brightest kind of person you've ever seen, always sweet to others and with the most peculiar happy clothes style (in fact, sometimes stuff I've seen Taliesin wear reminds me of him) But he had a lot of pain in his heart because he cared about everything too much. And his family decided to give away his clothes to his friends, so that we could have stuff that reminded us of him. And I didn't really ask for anything much because I felt a bit guilty cause I hadn't seen or talked to him in quite a while before he left. And yesterday I watched the previous episode till 5AM, and now I'm watching this episode, when I check a notification on my phone, and its a friend asking if anyone wants what is left of the clothes, and the first picture is a shirt of his with Molly on. And I'm an agnost, but I don't think I've ever been more sure of there being something after death than right now. I know this is probably just really uncanny coincidence, but I sobbed my way trough the funeral bit, and I just want to say thank you to Sumalee for that comment about people still being there. I don't know if I believe that, but it still makes me feel better? I think these two episodes are helping me with how unfair I feel it is that out of all people, it's the best ones that go early :(
