In this short Spoken Lebanese Arabic Lesson (LEVANTINE DIALECT), you will learn the following conversation:
Let's go to the movies today in the afternoon. Do you feel like it?
Yeah, why not? What do you want to watch?
There is a newly released Lebanese movie, called Capernaum. It''s story is very touching.
Oh yeah! I've heard about it. Yes of course! Let's go! Three O'clock or 5?
Three is better. See you later. I will wait for you next to the popcorn machine. We buy chips and chocolate and we go in.
God help me with you! You always care about your belly (you always want to eat) Chaghig. Reduce munching!'
CAPERNAUM TRAILER 1: • Capernaum | Official U...
CAPERNAUM TRAILER 2: • Capernaum | Official T...
The best tip I can give you at this stage is, always write down what you hear and repeat sentences and words out-loud. This is essential in memorizing new vocabulary and achieving fluency as well as native-like pronunciation. And remember, repetition is key!
Enjoy your lesson :D

Cinema is my profession, I live in Mexico City. I saw Rome, the director, Alfonso Cuarón is a friend of mine, I like Rome. However, I was very disappointed that Caphernaum did not win the Oscar for best foreign film, a better film. Caphernaum is a master piece! A film that stays with you forever. The acting is incredible, those kids, the story. Same with the price in Cannes, Caphernaum is far superior than Shoplifters. My opinion. I've seen Caramel, I adore, and Maintenant on va ou? Nadine is an excellent auteur, director and actress. Also very pretty.

marHaba ustaadha, ya3teeki il3aafeyeh lad-dars. At about 04:20, in some regions of the Levant like in Syria for example, the imperative "come" is said as تَعال =ta3aal

Just a tip... "neezel" could be a bit like "drop" which is not usted for movies (they come out) but it's used for music or other products like clothes/makeup at least on RU-vid and it also means to go down

Capharnaum is one of the best movie I've ever watched. I can watch it for like once every day. And it is what makes me curious about lebanese arabic and brings me here. I learned MSA grammar for years now (but still not fluent yet😂) but when i watch Capharnaum i say "hey, why are not any of their saying is like what i learned? I can't even hear the words clearly. It says it's an arabic movie" So i searched for lebanese arabic, and turns out levantine country has its own accent. And it is a unique and challenging accent to learn. Maybe will be wonderful if you may breakdown the dialogs from the movie Capharnaum for a lesson. I love it so much❤ Greeting from Indonesia, syukron ktiir

Sorry to bother you on a Saturday but I like how you always read all the sentences first and out loud, it makes it easier for me to hear how things are pronounced. And what I tried to do which is extremely helpful, is to slow down the speed voice just in case I did not hear you correct the first time. Have a great weekend and keep up the good work!

When do we drop the H for words in Arabic for speaking Lebanese Arabic? Thank you so much god bless you!!

@GlobetrotwithArabic Год назад
I didn’t understand your question🥰Can you explain more?
@aabellik4043
@aabellik4043 Год назад
For words on 25:31 you show hinne bedon, and then explained that it’s spelled “bedehon” but that you don’t pronounce the “h”. It makes me wonder, when I’m reading the Arabic words how can I know when to pronounce the h and when not to?
@GlobetrotwithArabic
@GlobetrotwithArabic Год назад
@@aabellik4043 ahhh yes, so when it’s a possessive ending, like his or her, or their, etc, you don’t pronounce the h sound. ☺️

@GlobetrotwithArabic
@GlobetrotwithArabic 4 года назад
Nina Markovic oh I see what you mean. In the masculine form it would be yes neezel. In the feminine form i'd drop it and say neezle and not neezele. Did I answer your question?😊

Globetrot with Arabic 😃 I mean helping vowels ,when some word ends in consonant and there is an another word like bayt kbeer and it’s pronunced bet-e kbeer or not?
@GlobetrotwithArabic
@GlobetrotwithArabic 4 года назад
Nina Markovic I see what you mean! fii film nezel-e-jdiid... Or even without a vowel: fii film nezel-jdid... with a small pause.

can you explain ra7 ontrak? Ra7 sounds like he goes so for me Ro7 ontrak sounds more correct to me. For example how would you say he will wait for you? Thanks!
@GlobetrotwithArabic
@GlobetrotwithArabic 3 года назад
The difference is that raa7 with a long aa means he went, ra7 with a short a means "will". So he will wait will be ra7 yontor and not raa7 yontor. Hope it helps😊
