The intersection between the renaissance of nuclear energy and the European Union’s ambitious green agenda has been debated. Readiness to make the necessary steps tends to differ among the member states and their societies due to historical experiences, political positioning, and technological and budgetary restrictions. Hence, this conversation is aimed at investigating the reasoning of member states on the potential contribution of nuclear energy in meeting the EU’s green objectives.
This conversation is hosted by the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) and it is a panel of a conference “The EU Conversations 2024“. The conference is arranged by The Latvian Institute of International Affairs (LIIA), in collaboration with the European Commission’s representation in Latvia and the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia.
