The cast of Lee Isaac Chung’s critically acclaimed family drama Minari received MFF’s 2020 Ensemble Cast Spotlight Award. The film’s standout cast includes Korean-American actor Steven Yeun, who led 2018’s Burning to immense critical acclaim, alongside Yeri Han, Alan Kim, Noel Kate Cho, Scott Haze, and Will Patton. Winner of the Sundance Grand Jury Prize and MFF’s Audience Award, Minari is a tender and sweeping story about what roots us, as it follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. I loved all the actors in Minari and the film as well. Also, I gotta give special props to the two child actors, Alan S. Kim and Noel Cho. "True pros" as Lee Isaac Chung describes them. I also loved it that the film didn't take a political stance such as being very "left" or "right". The film simply told an honest story about the struggles of trying to make it in life, in the US or anywhere in this world. And as someone already mentioned in a similar vein in a separate article, it's not some much about the story, but it's about "how the story is told". Congrats to Lee Isaac Chung and his crew.

enjoyed the interview. i really want to know though how the children got casted when it was their first time acting. they really hit gold w/ the amazing, veteran cast!!

I've watched so many interviews with this cast, and you're one of the better interviewers. You really liked this group/cast as real people and that comes through. You seem genuinely happy to interview this group. It was really enjoyable to watch.
