I have 9 pair of low and one pair of high. Prefer low, obviously, but thats just my personal opinion. To each their own. Been wearing chucks since i was a kid. I'm 40 now and have a kid of my own now and she loves her chucks too haha
Started wearing what I would consider the prelude to these as a kid in the mid-70s….the good ole Keds. Once I hit 5th or 6th grade the converse low was what the majority of kids wore back in the day. The white were always covered in grass stains so they sucked….which is why the markers and colored ink pens came out during class and on the bus to do your own designs. Moms always hated it but it’s what we did. Going forward I would definitely pick a darker color canvas. Light again sucks for stains. Dark hides stains. Planning to grab a pair of Chuck 70s. They have to be better than the originals, which were murder on the feet.
Yes they offer additional ankle support, but they are a hassle to put on. I have 2 pair of low tops and never had a high top before but I might get one soon. Because the low tops aren't really good for walking around. But what’s awesome about them is you can leave them laced up and just slip your feet in. Why not get both, the best of both worlds am I right
I love the cushioning of the 70 but hate how stiff the canvas is compared to the old style. I have found that the cushioning goes from minimal to extreme if you go from the All-Star to the Malden Street to the Hi Street to the Unl1mit3d to the 70 to the Hike to the Run Star Motion.
Something that I have noticed with Converse is that the low ones are twice as eaten and they are seriously fucking comfortable, much more than the high ones. But the tall ones have a better style.
I don't like the huge logo on the high top. So low tops for me. Next debate: socks or no socks in Chucks... I'm for no socks (not no-socks). Chucks have something magical if worn bare foot.
